This concept of selecting a save file before being able to exit confused me as well. I spent hour scouring the forums, looking for anyone brave enough to post this topic. I didn't want to look like a total moron, so I thought about saying it was poor game design. I was also afraid someone would call me on my snarky-ness, then I would snap at them like a total asshat.

I'm glad you took care of this issue for me.
