Guys i'm salty as ♥♥♥♥, been fighting with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Armstrong for 2 hours already on the hardest difficulty, with no health packs. This is honetlsy the most frustrating boss i've ever fought in any video game, so please pleeease some tips ? I know i can eventually do it, got him to 70% once, but it just can't be THAT frustrating ... there must be some super moves you can do to stun him or deal loads of damage ... ?

Do you cut those rocks that he throws? They drops 4 health pack. Also if you see Armstrong doing that supercharge rush which becomes to QTE then try to make/block/attack to make you doing the better version of that QTE

Nah i'm too retarded to slice those rocks he throws, i can never get the 2nd one so i just run through them. THanks for the QTE tip

Why? Are you awful with blade mode or is the 2nd rock leaving you only 1 second or less to react? Because if the latter occurs then you are experiencing one of the known bugs of this game.

This times a billion. You can knock the difficulty down to beat him and get the sword and upgrade it for the higher difficulty fight. It'll save you some sanity. Also X+A if you have defensive offence has a decent amount of invulnurability frames you can abuse but it can be a pain to learn the timings at first.

I just don't understand the blade mode mechanics in the throwing boulders part, the first one is almost always OK, but the problem with the seccond one is that i just can't line the blade on the 4 squares, the line is always under the 4 points and it's impossible to hit them and i won't bother killing him without 4 free health packs. I'm a noob scrub that's been too spiled by Dark Souls's fairness and comprehensive game mechanics. It's time to go hide somewhere like a puppy, because this game seriously kicked my ass, it sucks that i can't bring the difficulty down a bit, because up to this final boss, i had a blast. Now i'm frustrated.

You have to position the camera also, not just the sword. But don't waste you time in this bs. Restart the level and make sure you get to this fight with health packs.

You dont need to line 4 square even though if seems like that. You can cut 3(or 2 if you are feeling lucky) squares. Also does your game run at 60fps?

If you're having far too much trouble with the rocks, then run away from them instead of cutting them. I found the rocks nearly impossible to cut in time with a mouse, but much easier with a controller... I never have an easier time with a controller than a mouse and keyboard!

If it helps, Armstrong had me raging, too, until I went and replayed the level to fill my repair nanopaste reserves.

yes if your game doesnt run at 60fps in that qte part is imposible.maybe iam wrong?

The sub-60 FPS QTE being impossible was patched some time ago, supposedly.

I had the same problem. Go back through the first level and grab all the nano repair pastes you can find. Save using the special saving woman. Then, turn off automatic nano repair pastes andredo the level. The first few phases of the boss can be done quite easily with no nano repair pastes.

When he throws things at you, just ninja run at them. I couldn't hit these bits at all with a controller, but you should have more than enough health to deal with him easily, provided you have mastered dodging his attacks.

Also try to master parrying the special charge attack you can parry. If you can pull off the resultant qte you deal loads of damage to him.
