Lost Progress Help
After some accidents with the lost progress, I’ve decided to make a special topic for such sort of problems.

If you have lost your progress in some way and can`t load it from server, do not panic!
We have a possibility to restore it from server backups. But to make it we need more info, thus please answer a few questions below.

1. How did you left the game, last time, right before the problem appeared? Was it Alt+F4, crash, hard reset, OS crash, terminate via Task Manager or normal exit via game interface.
2. When you have started the game and this problem appeared was it in normal mode or offline Steam mode?
3. After the game started, did you received the dialogue window, which asked you to load server or local profile? Server profile level was correct or level 1, already?

If you want to restore your profile, write me here your ingame nickname or confirm that your current Steam nick is the same.

Dear SAM,

thank you for starting this topic. My progress was lost today...when I started the Game it says "Could not load profil. Creating a new one" and now my progress seems lost

1. I left the game last time via the game interface, the normal way
2. I started the game today while Steam was in offline mode, then the error message appeared...after that I connected to Steam and tried it again, but my progress still is lost
3. I did not receive any dialogue window, when I started the game

Please restore my profile...my ingame nickname was/is my current Steam nick (tsugaru)

I had the same thing happen. I started the game, it said it could not load a local profile, then created me a new one that somehow had the first level already beaten. Last night, I left the program in the normal manner, closing it through the X. I'm really not keen on starting all over again. My username in the game should match my Steam username, AFAIK.

SAM, thank you for making this thread.

1. I left the game via normal game interface, but logged onto Steam on my laptop from a hotel. Steam was not in offline mode when I left the game.
2. I logged on to Steam on my desktop today and fired up Prime World Defenders, only to find that my previous play sessions progress had been lost. Steam started in online mode (though there was an update pending).
3. I did not receive a dialogue box at any time to ask whether I wanted to use local or server profile.

My profile name does not match my Steam account name, my username is tyler.larson, Steam is cinematika.

EDIT: Actually it looks like my steam and game nickname are both tyler.larson

Update: I loaded Prime Worlds again, and got the exact same message. Failed to load local profile, creating a new one. After that message, I saw a message flicker by thanking me for buying the pre-order version, but then it vanished before I could even click OK.

Should I try reinstalling the game? Also, I was never in Offline mode with Steam.

We will restore all listed accounts on server soon.
Do not reinstall your game, if you have received message with "Failed to load local profile", sometimes you can just wait a bit and it will load proper one.

I tried it again twice but the message "Failed to load local profile" did not appear again...however my profile seems still deleted, if I want to play I just can play from the beginning on the automatically new created profile...

The game is still not loading my correct profile. It is starting up with a profile that has only completed the first battle.

To me its the same! Still same problem....
Weird: In Steam the Game displays, that I have 60 of 80 Archievments (thats definitely wrong) but in the Game I have no Archievment and still starting from Level 1 with a "new" profile

3. Booting up the game gives me a popup that says "ERROR: Game failed to load local profile. A new profile will be create now. [ok]". Clicking on the OK button just makes the Error popup again.

So, is anyone going to fix this? Right now I have a game that I PAID FOR that I cannot play because I don't want to risk destroying any possible backup you may have. Considering that the game is out of Beta, I really should be able to play it and not have to worry about losing all the progress I make. Hello? Beuller?

I'd really like to play the game I bought. Please fix this.

To reiterate:

1. I left the game in the normal manner, using the red X in the circle.
2. I was and am always in Normal mode on Steam, never offline mode.
3. When I boot the game, I am never asked whether I want to be in local or offline mode. A long time ago, when the game kept failing to save my progress past battle 1, you released a patch, and it asked me that one time if I wanted to be local or server, and I chose local (since it was the server that was preventing me from progressing). After that, every time I exited, it said it was saving to server.

My Steam nickname is (obviously) etherghost. I believe that my ingame name is that as well. Please restore my progress already.

Yeah...etherghost is totally right. I paid for a (great) game, but cannot play it because Iam worried about losing my progress again or destroying possible backup on your servers....please: we need a solution for this, its very annoying

Huh? This is the first game ever I've seen a developer offering to help for a lost save game. Kudos for you guys.

It's not just a 'lost save'. It is the entire progress I have made.

I would immediately start from the scratch on my new created profile from Level 0, if I would know for sure, that this error wont occure again. But how can you play a game when you always have to worry that with your next log-in all your progress will be lost!!??
