Sorry for lack of updates
Hi

I would like to apologize for lack of updates from our side.

Whole Defenders team left Nival in October 2013 (I've spent month in hospital and left later).

We're sorry we can no longer support Defenders :(

Now PW: Defenders is handled by new guys at Nival Red, they'll handle it from now on.

Well, it is nice to read a message, even if from former dev, and I do sincerely hope you're getting better after your hospital time, but really, since October, not a single one of you couldn't find a minute (or two) to come here, give us farewell, and, maybe, some explanation? No a single one of you of team of what, 30 men? I wonder what it is, lack of subordination, chain of command, seven cooks and their famous broth, or "nobody cares"? Or you were so fed up so absolutely couldn't stand everything related to game, including us?

Sorry to hear that. Appreciate you letting us know what's going on. I want to say that I think you and your team made a great game; It has been the most enjoyable game I have played in ages. I hope you have a speedy return to health.

Well thanks for the FU. You don't think it's a bit late to tell us? First the servers shut down and THEN you come here and tell us that the entire team left in October. I just bought the game when the Christmas sale was on and it seems quite convenient for you that you didn't have the time to tell us before. I have had the game for nearly a week and since you have known about the stop of further support for several months I'll have to ask Steam for a refund

Guys, again, I'm really sorry for that.

Development and communication about Defenders shifted to other people and I assumed they would handle it.

I only found out about current situation after Thanatos pinged me on Twitter half an hour ago.

Хотя всего-то не работают ачивки и списки лидеров. Но всех обманули!

I can understand why some people are frustrated, so am i. But give Segal some credit, he found out that others hadnt handled it so he came here after being very ill and letting us know instead of leaving us in the dark. Heres hoping the new team start communicating with us

I'll talk to their boss, I'll probably see him on Steam Dev Days. hope he'll push them a little bit :)

Segal, are you sure that no one ever wrote you about problems with PW:D before? Like asking for patches few weeks back, multiple times? No? Well, then third turtle is lying.

Should anyone of you come here for his farewell message, it would be highly probably he would spot series of messages asking for patch, beta of which been released in September. You had whole month to release it, or at least tell us you're leaving (or at least remove your "developer" badge, to reduce confusion). I remember you telling me about iOS/Android version re-orientation, problems you met, and promises to release patch after iOS' version release. Don't remember month, though I think it was October. Then most of you left, without notice, you stayed, for a while. Still not paying attention.

If you really wrote a book on marketing, I really want to know how you suggest to deal with situations like this. Hm?
Main cause of problem : Early Access.

Ouch, that hurts! :cwat:
Segal Jan 6, 2014 @ 1:05pm
Sirrus, this isn't a marketing problem, and solution is quite simple - push out patch :)

That's not my responsibility since October. I've nagged people responsible for thiis, and was reassured that all will be fine here, once iOS version hits an AppStore (which it did to quite a success in Russia).

It is my fault that I got so self-absorbed, that I've forgot about this and I'm really sorry for that.

So marketing ends when game hit the sales' start, after that it's no longer marketologists problem, out of heart, out of mind, "away with ye, beggar", and all that? :D
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio...

I don't know when exactly in October your responsibility has ended, but in the middle of it you still were here, promoting your game, and, according to your twitter, you kept mentioning it even afterwards;). Another mystery of marketing I'm not aware of?

Still, I'm interested in your opinion over solution of such situation, from bookwriter's perspective. What has been done wrong, how to correct it (outside of obvious patch, because there is nothing on horizon yet), whom to sent to Syberia to clean up snow, and whom to sent to give a French kiss to a shovel at -30C (and then sent to Syberia)...

For now I'll wait how your former colleagues walk their talk, but I'll be quite reluctant in future purchases. Too bad, I really waited for Blitzkrieg 3. Even if it was made by different team.

As of now, there is seems to be Orthodox Christmas, so, if you celebrate it, then merry Christmas. Sorry, Steam was glitching like Simcity of battlefield 4 for now, so I couldn't write it earlier.

Whoa, calm the hell down. Segal has said that Defenders hasn't been abandoned and that another dev team should be pushing the patch. Should...

Segal, I understand things change and I hope you guys are doing okay wherever you now are. However, I really hope that the Beta patch at least will go live soon. If it does, I shall be totally content with the game even should it no longer be updated after that.
