Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon

I have read some comments and I would like to know...
1 - So I have been heard that this game is basically fun if you have other people to play with. And I was intending to buy two copies or more of this game to play with a few friends. Would this be a good choice?
2 - The critics said the game is locket at 30 fps maximum. How bad is that? Is there any update for that? I don't complain about the "poor" graphics since having lots and lots of bugs to kill would demand a high end pc, and I guess they wanted to have a big quantity of people enjoy the game.
3 - People said that the game gets boring too fast. Why is that? Is it too easy? Too difficult? Is the AI dumb? Are there instant kill movements, from the player or the alien bugs, that are overused?

Any other thing I should take into consideration to judge whether I should buy this or not?

Also, Firefall is going from "closed" to "open" beta soon. If my computer is able to run it, would you recommend me not to buy this game? I need sincere opinions here. I really want to play something fun to do co-op with a couple of people..

The game is locked at 30fps but someone made a 60 fps patch: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2331205

Unfortunately the MP is quite dead. Make sure you have friends to play with. It's still quite fun solo.

The game is quite short (about 3-4 hours, maybe) but it does have replay value. Tons of crazy weapons to find/purchase, remixed campaign and armour can level up giving you access to more weapons and abilities.

Firefall sucks.

You know what I will buy it and see it for myself. How can you be sure that Firefall sucks if it's not even open? Have you playerd it?

I have tried that fix but it made my game run really slow motion. I guess that's because I still can't produce that amount of fps. And when I put the older .exe back, it worked a bit better. Just a bit. Not sure if my comp can't run it. In any case, soon I'll get a new comp then I'll put my real opinion on the experience. Right now I can't say much since I played the first parts very slowly. Smooth. But slowly.

Firefall isn't terrible. It isn't great. I've got in on a few of the open beta weekends.

I played for awhile during those weekends because I was extremely interested in the game. To me there really wasn't much to do. The game world is lovely but its empty. There are things that are called thumpers that essentially allow you to gather resources and kill enemies that are attracted to the thumping... Its one of the biggest things in the game from my understanding and they were incredibly easy. Every once in awhile it got tough but for the most part I was disappointed by them.

Aside from that I was able to run around for hours and not encounter enemies except in what appeared to be quest areas or thumper events. Quest zones or events were fun simply because if you died they kept their progression. It was basically clearing out a base for an objective and then delivering that object to a beacon. Another one I had to reassemble a thumper. There were a few really cool "zone' events that occurred that had multiple stages. I ended up going through a portal at the end of one and getting killed as it became unstable. It was fun, but I need to learn more about those events or rather the after events so I know what I am doing.

I tried PvP... waited about two hours for a game and then had to log off.

Essentially from what I found, there is potential and the ideas are there. It just isn't the best execution. The content is either too easy or just a hair on the too challenging side (mainly due to the way the AI and enemies act) by yourself. With friends, its all very easy from what I found.

They've probably improved it much since I played and I know there is a lot I didn't get to. My first impressions were kind of meh after about 10 hours of play.

I see. I will try to play ir for some days once it releases. I bought EDF, but it is not working properly on my notebook. The uncap fix only made things go twice as slower, and without it it was still pretty slow mo, so I don't know, I guess once I buy my new comp next or the following month I will try it again.

A port that went bad. It should have stayed on the XBOX like most of those crappy games.
