Implementation of manual screen resolution and refresh rate selection under Settings.
Implementation of a full-screen borderless "Window" display mode inside the game under Settings.
All screen resolution and refresh rate combinations potentially supported by the PC driver may be selected in Settings under Help & Options. However, if the refresh rate selected is not either 59/60 or a multiple of 60 (120, 240 etc), slowdown or other graphical issues may occur. The above refresh rates are strongly recommended to enjoy a fluid gaming experience. Note that the refresh rate setting only applies to the game running in Fullscreen "on" mode.
Window mode has been added as an option for the Fullscreen setting. Fullscreen value settings are as follows:
On: Traditional full-screen mode. Uses the resolution and refresh rate specified in the game's Settings menu.
Off: Traditional windowed mode. Game runs in bordered window within the operating system. User's Desktop setting is used for refresh rate (in-game setting is ignored).
WINDOW: "Full-screen windowed" mode. Game runs in windowed mode but the window takes up the entire screen with no borders (visually equivalent to fullscreen "on"). User's Desktop settings are used for resolution and refresh rate (in-game settings are ignored).
When to use WINDOW setting:
Window mode is recommended for those users who may experience issues when using Fullscreen mode, such as resolution drops, refresh rate issues, or crashes. If you experience any of these issues (particularly with more than one processor in the system) please attempt to use the WINDOW setting to play the game.
Reviewers love Strider!
Feb 18, 2014
The reviews are pouring in for Strider, which is out tomorrow on Steam. We're thrilled to report that the critical reception so far has been astoudingly positive! Read on for a review round-up, plus launch trailer and screens!
Destructoid - 9.5/10
"Double Helix has really come into its own."
Polygon[www.polygon.com] - 8.5/10
"Strider begins with considerably more player agency and ability than other exploration-based games, and the speed and finesse on display made it a joy to just ... sort of ... run around."
GamesRadar[gamesradar.com] - 4.5/5
"Strider makes itself known as the raddest game to come along in years."
Game Informer[www.gameinformer.com] - 8.75/10
"<span>Strider is a great reboot for old-school arcade junkies and at the same time a fresh action experience for newcomers to the franchise." </span>
GameSpot[www.gamespot.com] - 8/10
"From the moment you embark on your journey right up until the final deathblow, Strider is a blast to play."
IGN - 7.5/10
<span style="font-size: 12px;">"This reimagining of the original Strider establishes developer Double Helix’s firm grasp on the essence of the joy of movement that makes Strider Hiryu such a great character."
(*Note: Extra props to IGN for coining the phrase "murderous pinball.") </span>
So while Capcom Unity's Gregaman and Chris Antista were gathering footage from just about every Strider game and in-game appearance for their amazing, colossal Strider retrospective, they began to notice a startling trend. Strider Hiryu, despite having been a famously lethal, acrobatic badass for over two decades, gets smack talked with astounding regularity. Even when he’s just scaled a massive satellite dish or finished slicing through a robot gorilla, there’s no shortage of naysayers waiting in the wings to call him foolish and weak. As a tribute to that disrespectful treatment and this ultra-mushy day of days, Capcom Unity has fashioned a handful of Valentine delights featuring classic Strider trash talk. XOXO

Good news, everyone! With the release of Strider just a week away (2/19 on Steam), Producers Andrew Szymanski and James Vance have agreed to join us for an exclusive Live View Q&A over on Capcom Unity!
Unity's done these in the past for other titles, but in case you're new to the concept, basically what they'll do is turn one thread of the Strider forum into a live chat for an hour so the producers can field some of your burning questions pertaining to the game.
The event will occur this Thursday, February 13th, 6-7pm PT. See the event thread for full details and ground rules. (Note: Event thread will remain locked until the event begins.)
Hope to see you there!
Strider release date confirmed! New modes and unlockables detailed!
Feb 5, 2014
All right guys, I know you've been waiting for this one. The highly-anticipated revival of Strider now has an official release date!!
The game will release for PC on Wednesday, February 19th.
Info on extra modes and new screens after the jump!
We're also happy to reveal today that the game will feature some fun extras to elevate replayability. First, there are two new Challenge Modes:
This is a speed run-style racing mode that challenges players to get from checkpoint to checkpoint in record time, slashing their way through enemies all the while.
Test your combat skills and earn that Special-A Class ranking Hiryu's known for by taking on progressively difficult waves of enemies while equipped with different ability loadouts.
Additionally, the game will support global leaderboards in both the Challenge Modes and the main Story Mode. That means you can compete with your friends, or random dudes in France. It also means Unity events!
Finally, we've got Costumes. Throughout the Story Mode, you'll come across the costumes of fallen Striders. Once discovered, Hiryu will be able to wear them during the game. Find all the costumes to unlock a full array of cosmetic customization options, letting you choose your own style.
There you have it, guys! We've got two weeks to let our excitement hit critical mass!
