Sleeping Quarters WTF???
♥♥♥♥ this level. Really.

Multiple Quarantine rooms in a row, with no ability to go back to a Save point or get left behind weapons in between, with enemies that stunlock you so you can't even shoot back.

And this is on Normal, not Hard. Until this point, the game was relatively easy, but suddenly ... this.

After a half-dozen attempts, finally passed the second room simply due to the fact that I had 20 cannon rounds to split between the two rooms. Then the 3rd room is 1 health and a useless weapon, and the 4th room is ... another quarantine with even more stunlocking enemies. WTF???

Who comes up with this stuff?? Who thought it was a good idea???

If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know.

EDIT: Ok, found the trick.

First, switch to a controller if you're not using one already. No, really.

Then just pull out the rifle (hopefully you have a lot of ammo because you'll need it), and hold Up while firing down.

If you're constantly jumping, the melee robots can't hit you, and you just have to worry about the flying zapping droids. The reason to switch to the controller is because for whatever reason you can't simply hold the "W" on the keyboard to keep jumping.

Oh, and, you'll really want to save the Cannon, all 20 shots (hopefully more if you could get some) for after the final boss fight. Trust me on that one.

I totally feel your pain man. Those multiple quarantine rooms were the first places where I died and I thought this game would be a breeze to finish...

My strategy for those rooms was pretty similar to yours, I basically ran/jumped from each end of the room to the other. Which worked pretty well once I got it down. Another troublesome part for me was the last boss, especially since I was trying to get that Hardly a Scratch achievement!

Hardly a Scratch turned out to be pretty easy once I found a way to reliably dodge the "instant lightning" attack. Only the little robots would screw up my rhythm, but then they dropped health if I was at <20. I had to delay finishing off the boss twice so I could wait for the bots to drop health :)

But the last stretch .... if I hadn't come in with 20 cannonballs, I don't know if I could have accomplished it.

To be fair, a lot of games are better with a controller than mouse + keyboard. Unless you play strictly FPS, Strategy and Point&Click adventure games, it's a good idea to invest in a 360 pad or something.

Was able to beat this part with kb & mouse; controller not required.

Jumping is key to breaking the stun-lock loop the bots can get you into. Also, not running forward and activating more of the sleeping bots until you've dealt with the horde at hand will help. Here's a playthrough of the area. Watching someone else get through and seeing their tactics might be of some assistance too:

Zeb's done a series of playing through Bad Bots you can check out and reference as needed.

Jumping is key to avoiding being stun-locked, but once stunlocked it is no longer help. Depending on the number of bots stunning you, only one in maybe 20+ button presses will do anything.

Wrong area. The one in this video is quite easy. I'm talking about the faster, tougher and more ruthless bots, or maybe they're cyborgs, that come later, shortly before final boss. In a couple rooms they're also augmented with the flying zapping bots.

Qurantine Rooms are just poor design choices. They aren't difficult unless you have trouble keeping yourself awake while holding down your fire button. They are monotonous and overused. A few of these rooms are fine but then they start getting used in excess at the end. No reason for these to exist. The game itself feels like a chore but these rooms just make it infinitely worse.

Not difficult? Did you beat the game? The ones preceding the final boss are horrendously difficult unless you manage to jump-avoid being stunlocked.

That's not difficulty. That's ♥♥♥♥ poor mechanics developed by a developer who hasn't a clue. You can jump between the cat-walks and jump back and forth to avoid stunlocks. Overall horribly designed rooms and mechanics. It's just ridiculously monotonous. I put it up there with the Flood level in Halo.

I do agree one mistake and you're screwed over and stuck in a stunlock. However, the AI is dumb and using the catwalks to abuse that you can do each room without taking a single hit.

The stun lock is the problem. It's the worst thing you can actually do in a platform game. That and automatic jump back after being hit.
