Stuck / bad design
Hi, maybe I'm a newby, but I get stuck with the first boss. I get killed 'cause I go there without knowing it was the boss place without enough weapons and I'm killed once and again, I can't go back because the door is locked and I get respawned always there, as a nightmare. Only option, apparently, is begining a new game. Tell me if it's me or this is a design flaw. There are no save games, only "checkpoints" which automatically respawns you at the very last of them. Soooo frustrating.

This would be a good way to try using your axe. Jump and smash the axe button and see what happens. Get familiar with the axe, you'll be needing it again at a later time.

OK! Thank you for the tip, I feel really newby :) We forget how to play the good old-school-not-forgiving 80's platformers ;) even if I'm more kind of an old school guy...

yea, and it gets more annoying with the higher bosses, especially if u had emptied ur secondary wep in the room before and came into the boss room looking for another secondary wep, not realizing it was a boss room until the boss appeared

True! But I think this kind of annoyances is what make this little gem so enjoyable, it makes you think how hard the games we used to play back in the 80s were because of this type of arbitrary design.
