view distance
is there anyway to increase the zoom out distance on this game? it seems like it has a lot of potential, but I'm constantly finding myself frustrated that I cant really see the world around me. it seems like all you can see is this tiny bubble around your character. the view distance zoom out feature needs to be like 2-3 times what it is right now. the max view is fine when your fighting something. its great to see the combat and the animations and the creatures. however to travel in such a small bubble I find myself getting frustrated by this function of the game.

anyone know if there is even a third party hack to increase the view distance, because even with all the bugs/issues in this game, this is my biggest complaint.

That is the major complaint of many. It supposed to be fixed in next patch, if indeed there is one. I hope so. This is not a bad game otherwise.

I thought it was supposed to be fixed in the last patch...

And you still don´t see anything. You can´t zoom out far enough and your "slight" increase of the FOV is just ridiculous.
If rendering a proper sky is your problem, then please let us zoom out further.^^

Sorry, but I am very disappointed with what you came up now after weeks and months of waiting.

Look your team know very well what gamers have been asking when it comes to FoV now if you cant deliver then lets us know but dont jerk us arround. Many like myself bought this game underdevelopment because we believe you would deliver on your vision for old school gaming and listen to the gamer community...dont lets us down.

I agree with Wutzel and Darknoble. If the dev just doesn't agree with all the players of their game that don't like the constricted FOV - the dev should just say that up front: "nope, tough, we like it that way." But to actually say "hey, we hear you, we're gonna fix the FOV", and make us wait several weeks for one little extra click out....

That's like something I'd do if I'm specifically going out of my way to offend someone I don't like. Like dropping a penny tip on the table for a waiter who ticked me off.

What the heck gives, Dreamatrix? *That's* the FOV fix? Something like a 5-7% increase? Whoa! Merry Christmas to me. Thanks for busting the candy bag wide open on this one.

Update:
If you feel the FOV wasn't hardly increased at all, I have found there is a screen aspect ratio component to it. If you are in a 16:9 resolution (like 1920x1080) it will not look zoomed out much at all along the vertical axis of your view. But if you switch to a less widescreen ratio (like 5:4 1280x1024), then the FOV increase along the vertical axis is significantly greater - like actually what I was expecting to see for a FOV increase as advertised...

So basically, if you want a satisfying FOV in this game, you might want to switch your res to 1280x1024 for this one.

So you're saying if we want a better FOV we have to play the game in low-rez and skinnyscope? Nope, sorry I have a widescreen hi-rez monitor for a reason, and playing a game 1990s style ain't it..

I don't think they like It. I rather think they do not know how to do a proper skybox (becouse of non sky textures FoV is as It Is) or It just take to much time and resources. They should use ready made and tested engine instead doing one on their own.
