This is a good game, it's may be even great!
It has a lot of flaws, but it is really well writen and the voice acting is good.
It's kinda like an indie dragon age. It has some great music pieces, even though it doesn't have a large range of music scores, all of them are good, and some of them are even great.

I will just make a list of some pros and cons from my personal perspective, and let you guys decide whether it's worth your money.

Pros:
The story I must say, it is really really good. Nothing is cliched, no "you are the chosen one, and fate has compelled you to keep pushing forward". You start out blank, and after playing a while, the game's world starts to grown in you. I know not many people care about stories in video games these days, but legends of dawn's story geniunely good. It's kinda like a bioware game, but less linear, less immature, and more realistic.
Voice acting is outttttttttstanding. Sure there isn't "an emotional moment" that will result in you get laid or get some npc killed, but the voice acting feels real, you can feel the sincerity in them.
This game has a lot of depth, I mean alot, it's not some last minute attached on half-butted broken mess. The skill tree makes more sense than dragon age. You can spend hours just running around, collecting stuff and figuring out things is really fun.
The music scores are very nice. They are very "in place", they are spot on. Even they aren't anything like skyrim's theme, they felt beautiful.
This game feels very retro, even though it's a top down hacko-slasho-buttonmasho game, how it handles questing, loots felt like it's something from the Ultima series. It's pure rpg fun.

Cons:
The combat feels clunky, enemies will always get the first hit on you, and you can miss your attacks 7 or 8 times in a row if you are under leveled.
The game doesn't explain core mechanics to you. I still don't know how to open locked chests even though I tried all my runes and keys on them. Crafting is also a big mess, you never knew what you should specialize in.
It has a few bugs, dungeons loads very slowly, and you can be stuck on a few bit of rocks.
Health regen out of combat is too slow. You have to eat some food, or it will take a few minutes to fill up your hp bar. This kinda makes cooking good, but I haven't find any salt in the game so I can't do it, even though I have like 50 pieces of meat lying in my bag. Why does my character refuses to eat saltless meat? Is she such a spoiled lady?
Missions have this bad habit of not telling you where you should go, and what to do. The instruction provides nice backgrounds and motivations, but not telling me how to complete them does not help.
All the merchants in this game are real fiends. They rips you off like nobody's business, it takes like an hour to get 7 silvers, and 7 silver is only good for like 15 loafs of bread.
Enemy AI cheats. They gang up on you even though technically speaking, spiders and wild wolves shouldn't help bandits.
At it's current stage, it's kinda glitchy and badly optimized. Even on a powerful pc, it still manage to drop frames when rendering some very busy scenarioes.
The graphics is not that pretty, I must say. Water looks like blue coloured concrete ground, and you can even walk on it sometimes.
It has a few iffy designs, such as you can neither spot nor avoid traps, mana regens very slowly, the game usually throws tons of mobs on you, but doesn't give you any aoe ability, CC and debuff spells are useless.

Even though it has quite a few issues, I find myself jolly hooked. I want to know what mission will happen next, and I feel bad about skipping dialogues and texts.
If you can look pass these problems, you will have a great time. It starts slow, but it grows on you. It's nothing like today's rpgs, and this is truly an unique experience. It's like mashing up traditional CRPG with modern ARPG, even though it's flawed, its core is nice.
I feel sad when such talented producers have to put up with limited budget and thus limited quality. If there's any sort of DLC, or sequal, that's definitely a day 1 purchase for me.

Anyway, thanks for staying with me, and have a good day.

The music is actually very good too, but some people may not like orchestrated scores. It does have more driving music during combat though.

I agree, but I think you have to acquire certain abilities to become more accurate, etc.

You can rest at a campfire to totally regen, but you have to wait before you can do it again.

I agree with you about the lack of in-game explanation in terms of lock-picking, runes, etc., but the game is open world so I plan on going back when I figure out how everything works :)

They just need to clean up a few things like path-finding, some graphics (the water looks terrible) and performance and it should be more tenable. It is certainly playable right now though.

Good news indeed! I'll try to be a little more tactful in my comments now that I know you're listening ;)

Thanks for the descriptions!

This thread actually helped me to know what to expect from this game. I hope the developers don't give up and continue to improve the game. So far, I have this game under my radar, and once the weaker points get fixed, I will give it a shot.

Well...like in "old school " RPG like Baldur's Gate for example and some others great RPG games. You have to use your brain to progress, not a simply cross on a map. You have to look at everywhere, try everything, died and reload the save because an enemy was to strong for you- then you look for and other way to avoid him and so discover something new... that's better than RPG with invisble walk on right and on left, and a big cross on map. :)
