Unity?

Why would anyone put games on steam that are made in unity!? Jesus, it's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ engine EVER and barely runs on my computer. The game itself sounds REALLY cool, but I'm not buying it cause it's made in unity. F that crap.

Unity is fantastic you just have not seen the potential it has. I mean the only games people know in unity is stupid slender so go home and play call of duty.

Developers make games, not engines. And if you're referencing Slender as being the bad game i'm pretty sure that was made by one guy wasnt it?

We are big Unity fans and have augmented the engine to our own ends to bring you The 39 Steps. Hopefully you'll see with this product, that the engine can be used to create something beautiful and atmospheric - and hopefully a little bit different.

I was pretty anti-unity but it certainly has its place. Surgeon Simulator 2013 wouldn't be what ist is without it.

What? How? What games have you played that use the Unity engine? I've played a few and none of them have caused me any trouble running on top settings... and my specs ain't the best.

There is nothing wrong with Unity, it is fantastic. Why dont you download it and make some stuff with it, then maybe you will get it...

That says more about the condition of your computer, than anything else. Unity is an EXTREMELY capable engine. Consider it: things as bad as you're describing don't become successful. The problem is probably on your end. :P

Bumping this from the dead, but to support the OP, my machine can't run Unity anything like acceptably and it's not exactly below-spec - Alienware M14x laptop with beefed-up components. Anything *not* developed in Unity, including brand new AAA titles, runs perfectly at more or less maxed-out settings, but anything that does use Unity is barely playable, thanks to a massive delay between my control input and the response from the game.
