Problems with the Game

Tropico 3 makes no ♥♥♥♥ing sense to me. I build houses, lower rent, lower taxes, increase wages, build what they ask for, put myself dangerously low on cash, and STILL they find SOMETHING to complain about! Argh! I'm so glad I'm not El Presidente. How am I suppose to attend to their every beck 'n call, if my funds are speedily vanishing, thanks to the AI's self-entitled attitudes.

Any tips? How can I make money on this thing? I know it's been many years since I've played things like this, but I used to be pretty damn good at Caser II, III, and Pharaoh, when I was younger.

They all flock to the place like it's a freakin' tropical paradise, when it's not, ... then they have the audacity to whine about it, ... it's like... YOU came HERE! If they find it so damn miserable, why don't they sod off, and preach their bullcrap elsewhere? Haha. This game really confuses me!

"WE WANT HOUSES!", so I give them houses, then they whine about them not being better quality, so I give them better quality, then they don't have enough toilet-roll to whipe their collective arses with, so then I give them a life-supply of gold-trimmed ♥♥♥♥♥ roll, and then they complain that their dinner-tables are off-balance, so I pay for people to go around and readjust them, and... so on. Jeez, I felt like less of a doormat on the older city-building games.

What bothers me the most, is that this is the first thing in the game, I think.

Well...this game......is...hard. Play the hell out of it, you'll kind of figure it out.

Was about to say that. Hilariously it probably depicts real people quite nicely. We always dislike what our government does, regardless of what it seems to be (although some edicts / foreign policies are way more appalling than others).
