If you have technical problems with Tropico please write an e-mail to the Kalypso Media Support " support@kalypsomedia.com ".

Please include a description of your problem, a DxDiag.txt. and a link to this thread within the mail.

To create the DxDiag.txt, please do the following:

Click "Start" button and choose "Run". Or alternatively, press (Windows-Button)+R.
Then type "dxdiag" (without quotation marks) and click Ok.
You will find all relevant information in the following window.
Click the "Save all Information" button, located at the bottom of the program window.
Save the file as "dxdiag.txt".
Attach the file "dxdiag.txt" with your E-mail reply.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

PGM Sniper Steve 6 ABR 2014 a las 16:24
im also having issues with the game crashing right after starting the program
Red-Rush 9 ABR 2014 a las 16:11
I solved my issue... My issue was solved when i turned off one of my dual monitors.
PGM Sniper Steve 10 ABR 2014 a las 7:11
turned off or unplugged from computer?
Red-Rush 10 ABR 2014 a las 18:27
Made it so that my computer would think that there was 1 monitor plugged in.
killmegently 12 ABR 2014 a las 9:17
Wait. I have to disable one of my monitors to make this game work? What a PoS. Glad I only paid a couple of bucks for it.
hawlk2004 21 ABR 2014 a las 19:02
did not have this problem but just built a new computer and now having the problem

Seriously? Sorry, I cant turn off my second monitor. Guess I just wasted $10.
TaMs 17 MAY 2014 a las 10:02
My pc just goes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I try to launch it. Probably system related, but no other games do that. Basically the fans go like 110% speed and screen starts blinking. Great game. Thanks.

EDIT: radeon 5770, amd x4 965be.

EDIT EDIT: I don't think dual monitor alone is the problem with you people. I'm using 2 monitors and well the game doesn't crash, but well other stuff happens like I said.

I'm running an 8 core Phenom, with 8gb and ram and Windows 7 pro. Should run beautifully, but once it starts and redraws the page and shows me the new icon, then it tanks with a "This program has stopped working. Windows is trying to find a solution".
PGM Sniper Steve 19 MAY 2014 a las 13:17
i have an i5 and a decent nvidia video card and i have the smae issue. if 2 monitors is not the issue why does it run perfectly without the second monitor?
Red-Rush 19 MAY 2014 a las 17:20
2 monitors was most certainly the issue for me.

I got it working by going to the install folder then right mouse click on the Tropico3.exe and goto properties then goto compatibllity ans set to run as Windows XP (Service Pack 3) also i checked on the Disable viual themes and Disable desktop compositon and also Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. And last of all check Run this as an administrator. I hope this works for every one else.
