I am a sucker for old-school callitwhatever games. Honestly first impressions weren't that good but after watching couple gameplay videos, I bought it first-hand because of the price(It was on sale). And i wasn't disappointed.
This is the game of the year for me. (2014) It has a really good writing style, interesting plot and even though this game is fiction, it feels like it could be real world.
Cyberpunk-meets-magic-meets-crime setting was a immediate selling point for me.
Characters are really likable and their stories were quite interesting.
Gameplay isn't that groundbreaking and it's a little short, but it's comfortable (maybe too simple) and works well. It's turnbased and maybe best to compare with games like Jagged Alliance and x-com.
This game really sucked me in its vast universe. After playing through Returns, I immediately felt like I had to know more about Shadowrun and started to look for books to read. And then I bought Dragonfall, which is a must-buy(and 2x better and longer than this, they fixed a lot of things) for anyone who gets in the shadows.
I really, really recommend this game and series for everyone who likes oldschool games and crpgs.
+Sucks you in, you will likely buy Dragonfall after this at least
+Game system is easy to learn
+Every important thing is explained, but not in too tutorial way
+It has a modern old-school game feeling in it
-Gameplay is a bit too simple
