Not enough good finished-and-polished UGC more than 20mns game to wait for Berlin.
My position : i stay a fan-boy, i'm fond of the style and graphics (i get my kicks just watching some mob's leather jacket). And i use the toolset to make my own content, wishing to give players some entertainement when it's ready...
They never promised additional content for Seattle. Why did you think they were going to release more content for Seattle? They mentioned fleshing out more of Seattle in the kickstarter WAY back in the day but who the ♥♥♥♥ really knew what that would mean?
Further, tumbleweeds in the UGC workshop? False.
Berlin is barely on HBS horizon? I just got my kickstarter swag in the mail, somehow I think they are still a bit overwhelmed with the initial project and are doing what they can with limited resources. Do you know what it takes to make a game? Do you work in the industry? No? Then shut your yap about Berlin. It will release when its done.
Life on Limb was ambitious, yea I spend a dozen or so hours playing with it myself and you have no right to complain if someone leaves a project unfinished. Maybe homeboy decided he would rather drink beer and bang 20 dollar hookers instead of make a shadowrun mod. Big whoop. Why are you so butt hurt about that?
The game is NOT a work in progress. I enjoyed the campaign twice, and experienced zero bugs. Maybe I am lucky, but I suspect most people that play the game enjoy it once or twice, maybe play a UGC or two, and uninstall it. Its a cheap 20$ game that won't blow your mind, but is decent to play none the less.
And after playing the SEGA and SNES games again for old time sake I realized even they are kind of linear. There is a little "open-ness" to the world but its still pretty much go here, do this, go there , do that, etc etc etc win the game. All this game is missing is the randomly generated grind to make you feel like you were earning something. Like going and killing two thousand ghouls in the vampire den to farm karma to max your stats, or doing a million matrix runs to afford the best gear. Thats what you want isnt it? To stretch out the 12 hour game to a sizeable 30 hour game.
but whatever right?
So yeah, there's a reason why some UGCs are slow to update. It's called programming. It isn't easy and making something decent takes time.
The game has been out for only two months...I suggest you take a look at modules like Wolke's Runners, The Deep One or my own to see what active UGCs are like.
4 patches just to make the game *playable*, zero content, main game skillsets are still broken, *cough* Rifles *cough cough* and the game was admittedly a tablet oriented project from the get-go, so expanding the number of tablets it plays on does nothing at all for me, or anyone else who already bought this buggy, brief, overpriced mess.
Berlin was promised in the kickstart, it's nowhere near completion according to the dev journals, with nothing else on the horizon and I challenge you to tell me that UGC is going anywhere at all, either on the player or the dev end, gl with thart, we can both see the absolute plummeting of interest in design on either side, mainly because the whole "chapter"/save system is horrible for modding or making anything beyond a few variables.
Disrespectful to the devs?!? What do you care, you're an end-user, unless you're actually a paid shill. The devs don't want respect, and don't need it; They get paid for what they do.
For how much this game costs, I honestly don't see how anyone complaining about it can have a platform to stand on. It's much better than I was expecting when I picked it up.
Again, all total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The game was playable without the patches. I know cause I played it trouble free.
Main game skillsets are broken? ALL the skills are overpowered, the game is f*ing easy mode. I played a troll phys adept/mage/shaman/decker/rigger and had zero problem punching everything to death even though killing hands is probably the WORST method of inducing death. If you want a challenge, crank up the difficulty and try pistols. Are you really complaining that rifles are overpowered? You know what weapons armies use in real life? RIFLES. DId you ever play the PnP shadowrun game and use an Ares Predator but expect it to perform better than the Ingram Smartgun or Defiance T-250 shotgun or some of the LMG's? Full auto destroys ♥♥♥♥ in real life, the PnP AND in this game....lo and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ behold...
Berlin was promised in the kickstarter but NOT promised as part of the main game. Maybe as a kickstarter backer you might get a free copy (assuming you gave more than 10 bucks to the cause) but it seems you didn't actually read what the devs were writing, you were reading what you hoped they might write. Are you pissed that its Berlin instead of <insert one of other options here>?
You challenge us to tell you what UGC is going anywhere at all? Man , way to tell Stymie Jackson "hey, I know you spent over 120 hours making your campaign but ♥♥♥♥ you anyways". Load up the workshop and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ look lazy ass.
And yes, disrespectful to the devs. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they don't want some respect and recognition for their work. How the hell do you think that they don't want respect for their work? You are an ungrateful little ♥♥♥♥, plain and simple. Lots of people think the game is worth 20 bucks, and for some reason you have launched a vengeance campaign...and for what? For what? To warn people away from a decent game? To hurt the rebirth of an awesome Franchise that deserves some attention? Because you were expecting a triple A title for 2 million? Because you couldn't read plain english and thought that HBS was promising you more than they did?
If anyone has the right the complain its one of the 63 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with their mug shots in the game that dropped 1K+ to help make this dream a reality...but you don't hear us belly aching about how this isn't a WOW killer/Baldurs Gate/GTA V
I finished my first playthrough before the game even got patched...and I am certain that the majority of people found the game playable. Zero content? Bull$hit! Sure, some of the things in the game were/are bugged, but that's what patches are for. It doesn't mean that the complete game is broken.
They promised us Berlin and that's what they are going to give us. If memory serves me right, HBS never told us that they were going to release it directly after the DMS-campaign...so you just have to chill. Developing games take time. The same is true for UGC. Just because you say that the UGC isn't going anywhere doesn't mean it's true. Just check out the steam workshop and shadowrun nexus.

I'm not saying HBS are being harrased as the people in the article. But it sure must be tiring for them to wade through unconstructive garbage, that is voiced by a minority, in order to find something that is of use.
Thanks ya'll again...keep up the good work.
Say that after you finish the "campaign" in another 6 hours or so and realize that nothing's happening in the last 3 months. See you in another month, when again, nothing will have changed and nothing will have improved, and UGC will be even more abandoned than it is now.
I don't think so. I think that many guys are working ATM to produce interesting UGC. The more it takes, the best they will be. Knowing that players will ask for a heavy content with variety and unternaining gameplay for each style need more and more things to be added. All this is time consuming. Why don't you try to make your Shadowrun with the Editor, man ?
