and why do those races "make sense" for shadowrun returns?
Lets be real, the metahuman variants were kind of stupid and I didn't allow them in my games for obvious reasons. The main 5 pretty much cover all your bases. You don't want a brutish character, make an elf...pretend its a pxie....
I understand that the big 5 are absolutely fine. I would just enjoy a little extra variance. To each his own. Personally if they added new races my prefrence order would be Ghouls and then Shapeshifters and then Pixies.
I do have to ask would you be outright opposed to a new race or two? And if you had to pick between Pixies or Ghouls which would you prefer?
2) Ghouls. Definitely ghouls.
O i just thought of a highly unlikely playable race that could maybe sort of make sense: The Sasquatches! Though if i remember correctly theey can't actually speak and don't use any tech...Obviously a good choice
The developers have discussed both. I understand the metahuman varient subraces but i was talking about completely different races. Though technically ghouls are just a type of Infected they are physically and statistically different from the 5 main metahumans and they have their own varients so if metahuman varients were added ghouls could also have varients
In the original game I always played humans. Now....ppfff troll or elf everytime. Usually troll. HULK SMASH!
Its not like in PnP shadowrun where your race actually plays a factor in how you build your character...
Of course I had to make a Troll Adept though. "Lung Shi Tro" is a force for sure.... And through training is unnaffected by such trivial things as peculiar olfactory stimuli.
I don't feel like I have to make any decisions in this game. Oh there is a computer to hack, let me spend some of that 200 karma to pump my skill up and TA DAH I am a decker. Oh and now I can cast spells, and summon spirits, and be a rigger, and punch people to death...and I still am more accurate than harlequin after spreading my points around...
In this game it just doesnt matter...
at least in the shadowrun SEGA game you COULD be a sammy/decker/shaman BUT you would have to GRIND for karma for WAY longer than you needed to if you had just picked a single role to play.
Crap now i want a Jackalman character
Because Earthdawn wasn't as popular as shodowrun and really has nothing to do with the shadowrun genre...I played one game of earthdawn and thought "this is total crap" but I love shadowrun enough that I threw more than a little money at the kick starter.
I would be pretty pissed if they start shoveling , in my frank opinion, stupid earther ♥♥♥♥ into my cyberpunk genre
I mean, magic and metahumans already kind of push the envelope. There is already more than enough metahumanity for it to be somewhat believable but still fantastic (I mean, all the meta humans still look human because they were or are closely related to humans. Please don't push to destroy the cyberpunk genre with high fantasy. High fantasy is its own genre. Would you dress like terminator at a renaissance faire? As Gandolph at a sci fi convention? Fantasy and sci fi nerds are natural enemies...
