Near 2 months and i still can´t play
This is a completely shame, beeing a kickstarter supporter, one year waiting for the game, and near 2 months after the release i still can´t play, but the worst is i don't recieve any comunication back from Harebrained Schemes about the bugs, not even a "hey, we're working on it"

This is a huge pity and i know im not the only one, next time i'll get a pirate copy of harebrained games before to buy the original, but then, maybe, i won't buy the original.

Erm... talking of piracy on this forum is very very wrong...

Second, that you have a problem with the game doesn't justify piracy in any way.

If i follow your logic it means that if i buy a car and it end up not working, it's okay to steal my next car.

Lastly, how did you try contacting them? Some channels of communication are more reliable than others. This forum is probably not the best channel.

The game's been out less than 6 weeks and it's had 4 updates. That's a pretty good response to everyone's bug issues. It would help if you described your system and OS specs and the exact issue you're having here, perhaps someone can suggest a fix?

As a Kickstarter backer, you could have posted in the Kickstarter comments. And you should know that HBS responds to us quickly via E-mail, unless they're attending a convention. You can always drop 'em an E-mail via info@hbs-studios.com - but try to detail your issue here first, before overreacting with rants about piracy (which you likely should remove from your post before Valve moderators ban your account for breach of ToS).

I already explained my problems in this forums, and on the bug tracker of harebrained, as well as other user, and still there's no solution over steam.

If you buy a car and you have no guarantee from the developer (no more guarantee than "i promise it works!") sure you'll get angry, and pretty sure you'll try to "steal" the next product before buy it.

I hope you both don't arrive to my situation with any game you buy :)

Hoi Duende!

I've been there with a few other games, Chummer! A couple I requested my money back, and some others I wanted to play enough that I waited (sometimes patiently, sometimes not) for the issues to be resolved. I sincerely hope your issue is resolved soon, and was asking for details to see if we could help. I've seen where you posted you had the same problem as another chummer, but I haven't seen where you've posted details specific to your unique system and experience.

Either way, I'll reiterate... the piracy comment you made could get your *Steam* account banned by Valve mods. You may want to edit your OP for that reason.

this game is so basic that it should work on any computer rig. what isnt working?

sometimes better make phone call without waiting email support response.
sometimes before fix something need more clear bugs around.
sometimes 1 team make game, 2 team support, 3 team fix bugs ...
sometimes need more time if many people like vacation in summer.
sometimes u only 1 leaf on project tree.

If you're getting the access violation crash when you launch the game, I sent HBS an e-mail and they said they are working on it. That was on the 23rd, so hopefully they have a patch in a week. It's not a problem you can fix on your own, so you'll have to wait for a patch. I understand your frustration though, as I purchased Shadowrun Returns on the 16th and still can't play it. Seems like this game needed/needs more thorough testing.

Duendo, please reach out to us at info@hbs-studios.com. We're sorry that your initial post in our bug reporting did not elicit a direct response; that web form was pretty slammed early after launch.

If they can't reproduce the bug on a dev machine, it is unlikely they will be able to fix it. That is reality. There are so many different PC configurations that they can't possibly test every one. That is why they like that information.

You have to realize this game works on a lot of our computers. This implies the issue you are having is probably related to your computer configuration. If you find games don't run on your computer, you may want to get another or move to consoles. Now to be clear, I did not say if other games work on your computer, I said other games don't work on your computer.

I never have problems running games on my computer. This is because I am a computer programmer and used to build all my computers. I have a pretty extensive knowledge of computers.

If you are unwilling to try to reproduce the error in a way that they can duplicate it, my money is on them not being able to fix it.

ok, i can make another example. if u have friends near u, u can ask them for test u game.
u can go to another pc, install steam + game and test start with another configuration.

ok, i always need "game start on my pc", but no 100% stability in any software.

I found a "solution", if a solution is to play the game outside steam :(

Its the only way i have to play it...

My problem i think its quite common, i use MacOs 10.7.5 and when i start the game by steam
i only get a black screen with the menus, if i try to start the campaign nothing happens, i also tried this with a macmini and on windows7 running over my macbook pro.

So, yes, now i can play, but without all steam features :(

oh man oh man, yes games support mac... but macs are as far from gaming machines as possible.

Its like using your hands to walk instead of your feet. Want to game get a PC that is reccomended for games... anything nor mac.

Duende Arkano Sep 20, 2013 @ 4:08am
thanks for your "mac suppport" but this is not my bussiness, if i buy a game who says its available for mac, i dont care what problems are inside or not, by the way i tell you that the orginal HALO was designed for mac, so it shouldn't be as bad as you say.
Duende Arkano Sep 20, 2013 @ 4:50am
just another thing: i've just installed the game on another PC (i tried on windows over mac) and still happens the same, my unique solution its to play it outside steam, im pretty sure not the only one who experience this issue
