lack of shamman totems (make new ones)

Hey I just made a shaman only to find that the totem I was looking for, rabbit, was not available.
Any content packs with alternatives?

Is it possible to make and add them?

From what I have gathered the totems are items that are assigned to the characters. If this is true. It shouldn't be that hard. I would even atempt this if pointed in the right direction.

Derp, found a guide burried in the wiki. Thinking about putting together a content pack for new a few new totems. Here are my initial thoughts (I am open to suggestions)

Existing totems:
Bear - heals all friends with in 3 of the DMG from the most recent attack. CD(cooldown) 2.
Cat - aids all friends within a range of 3 with Dodge +1. Lasts 3 RNDS. CD 1.
Coyote - friends within a range of 3 with Quickness +1. Lasts 3 RNDS. CD1.
Eagle - friends within 3 with a +15% to hit. Lasts 2 RNDS. CD 1.
Raccoon - friends within a range of 3 with +2 move. Lasts 2 RNDS. CD 1.

Dog - friends range of 3 gains a Med Cover bonus to magic spells for 2 rounds. CD1.
Rabbit - friends within 3 gain +1AP. Lasts 1 RNDS. CD3 *EDITED*
Crocodile - Friends within 3 gain +1 Str bonus. Last 3 RNDS. CD 1
Crow - friends within 3 gain Light Cover to friends within 3. Lasts 3 RNDS. CD 1
Bat - ???
Mouse - Friends within 3 are silent. Lasts 3 RDNS. CD 1.
Turtle - Friends within 3 gain +2 armor. Lasts 3 RNDS. CD1.
Rat - Enemies withing 3 have their AP costs increaced by +1. Lasts 2 RND. CD 3.
Spider - Enemies within 3 cannot move. Lasts 2 RNDS. CD 3

Balance? Fit? Doable? LIke? Dislike?

I'd go for Rabbit myself. Thought Turtle doesn't look too bad. Never got the point of the silent status effect though. :/

I'm not a specialist with SR core rules, but i allways told myself that the Racoon totem was giving move bonus because giving AP bonus would have made it OP
Everyone wants to get more AP, because we all discovered that more AP=incredible advantage.

I think I'd go with Rabbit, Rat, or Crow given those options. Rabbit definitely seems like the best considering it last two rounds and only has a three round CD, so you can have it a fair amount of the time.

I know this isn't something that playable characters of the Shadowrun universe can do, but I thought it would be badass to have a Bug Shaman.

I wanted to add some flavor and give a reason for being a shaman. though I am finding as i Play through conjuring is pretty boss on its own.

Too bad you cannot give shamans flaws as in the PnP versiaons.

The only times where I consider conjuring useful is when I face melee enemies. :/

It's allways good to use that free spirit when cover is few and you don't want your guys to get hurt. Mobs often focus on them or bots...
Maybe something was wrong in pricing the Spirits and making them consummables.
Plus, a Shaman's + Spirit turn compared to Rigger + Drones turn ==> so lame !

Not to mention that maxed out Drone Combat skill makes Drones very powerful. Maybe Shaman should get something simular to Enhance the base abilities of thier spirits.

back on topic... I am trying to do a bit of reseach on creating content only (no story) mods.

I figured out how to open the hidden files from the library, in the editor. Since I want to change the items I think I simply need to edit the txt files. I have yet to find a way to unzip the .cpz on mac.

What unarchives .czp on osx?

Problem is, bear's too useful not to pick as the totem. An extra group heal for a run is the reason to go bear over those other ones.

Aside from this, there's also no RP reason to go with one over another. Totem's like Rat and Gator would be cool to roleplay, but the OC doesn't distinguish them apart.

Not to say that UGC could not take toems into account. or that future expansions won't have more for totems. Anyway it is mostly for flavor. No reason you can't stick with bear but I for one would like some other viable options.
