Shadowrun with the Fallout 3 engine
I've always thought it would be really cool to have a version of Shadowrun that ran in the Fallout 3 engine. If done, please keep the same kind of open gameplay, contacts, Johnsons, and matrix runs as in Shadowrun for the Genesis. I have a lot of ideas for this. Please contact me directly to talk more about it.

Boo. Boo on Bethesda. I would greatly prefer if those choobs stay away from at least some of my cherished IPs. They already got Fallout. They can frag off.

I stopped playing Fallout 3 because i was never crashing outside but frequently inside buildings.
Plus it was more a FPS with beer and chopsticks than a 1st person RPG.

It seems that producers think that each and every player loves to crouch and shoot then run and throw grenades then tweet under cover...

I do think isometric turn by turn games provides the better material for elaborated strategies and tactics And i do dream of a shadowrun looking like XCOM...

Now THAT is something else entirely. That I could get behind.

Myself, I would like to see a version of Shadowrun ran like other MMORPG's. Open world, endless quests, team up with others to do runs and such....soooo many possibilities...

You want an MMO was for Shadowrun Online, it is coming down the pipeline.

Of all the game engines you could choose, you choose one of the most unstable, buggy pieces of drek to ever succeed on the mass market?

Really?
Why not the CryEngine? Unreal Engine 3? Even freaking Unity 4 would be better than that god-awful, poorly-optimized, Gamebryo engine.

If I were to make an open world Shadowrun game, I'd probably petition Rockstar or Volition well ahead of Bethesda for tech OR world design.

Atmos, I wish I could upvote you.

Gamebryo = bind "pcb" to a key and spam the key endlessly....

I'd like to see a Shadowrun game on a Gamebryo-esque engine - one that actually did what Bethesda promised and wasn't as buggy. That being said; when combat started, the game world would freeze and the camera would fly out to a tactical view for turn-based combat, similar to how SR:R switches from free-roam to combat and back, but in a full 3D environment.

Sadly; such a game would probably have an astronomical cost to make.

I'd love that. Right now, my dwarf mage's powerball is as weak as a spitball made of dryer lint. A robust magic system is just what a revamped SR needs.

Oh, pls, no FPS engine for SR.
Reasons :
1) Skyrim/Fallout 3 combat system ? not present, u build not change rush between enemies.
2) Squad tactics ? Anyone can see in S/F3 smart followers ?
3) Trash mobs for farm. Players really need weak/silly mobs for killing ?
4) Thousand not used items.
5) Bad transport system. Fast travel between enemy cities ? No airplane or various ground vehicles ?

FPS ruin big tactical experience. with S/F3 u can remember SWAT N series.

or may be author want PayDay 3 Shadowrun Edition ?

pls not make something 3D without "brain". better 2D with various ways to play then many-corridor shooter with nothing-change-decitions.

and not give chance for SR transform to another kind of DeusEx, Dishonored, Thief, SplinterCell, TombRaider etc.

SR must be something better then silly shooters with stealth for 5 buttons.
SR can be great carnival with dangerous adventure with unexpected result of planned decitions.

having SR on the fallout3/oblivion engine doesnt mean copying those games directly. Heck you can still make it a 3rd person, turn based stategy game in that engine (like fallout3's VAT system, cept enemies get to shoot back :p).

It would still be an old and very buggy game engine. Bethesda has been using the Gamebryo engine since Morrowind, and it is still a buggy mess a decade later.

There are plenty of new game engines that could be used instead of Gamebryo.
