Is there a way to scale the difficulty?
I dig this game a lot and was playing through the custom campaigns but a lot of them either are just unfair when you begin or my imported character is just way too strong. It'd be neat if there was a way to scale it so I always had some sort of a challenge but wasn't immediately being gunned down.

I know many campaigns are made for fresh characters but not all of them are and I'm not quite sure what to do. Also, if you're making a campaign is there a way to force it to scale to the player character?

Nothing is generated on the fly. I suppose you could spawn enemies based on karma spent on a character, which IS a variable to use, however I'm not sure if that carries over from an old character or not, and would be a PITA to do for almost every encounter (rig up a version of every enemy for several "levels" of characters, along with any special variables for each encounter, etc). If you think branching storylines are bad where you have to create everything after a specific choice once for each option (and growing exponentially for all choices that you make really matter) then this would intensify that and make your adventures a big tangled mess in the editor.
I think at some point you need to be a cut above the rest. Just because you become very powerful at some point, shouldn't mean that every schmuck on the street gets a random injection of bad-ahs (spelling error on purpose) and starts to turn into a fighter of legendary proportion. I guess the best way to deal with such issues is to increase the number of enemies, rather than populating the world with 200+ karma gangers.
I'm sure that, at some point, we will see the introduction of enemies that require you to be a legendary runner. I'd assume that it's only a matter of time before we see the implementation of pythical creatures like Dragons and wendigos.
On the opposite side, if things get too tough, try a different approach or see if you can hire some runners to help you out.
