Cloud saving?
I read that they had hoped to implemented cloud saving at launch, but does anyone know if they accomplished this? If I need to move my save file from one computer to another, where is it located? The local files aren't very well labeled for easily finding them.

Cloud saving works for me. I installed the game on my desktop computer and played for 30 min. Then I installed it on my laptop and could continue from where I left off.

Awesome. It wasn't mentioned on the store page and I was wondering if I'd need to email the file to myself.

That would explain why I can't find a local save file.

Awesome, so the save file is linked to your steam account? If so, then that's amazing.

I can confirm it works cross-platform too. I started a game on my PC, and continued it on a macbook without any fiddling with save files. Yay!

I'm bumping this thread in the hopes that someone can help solve my problem. Cloud saves don't seem to be working for me. I have Steam and Shadowrun installed on 2 computers - both Windows - but the games keep their separate save games. Do I have to activate cloud saves somehow or what could be the problem?

Hoi TomHell!

Firstly, make sure the Steam client has firewall permissions on both PC's local and router firewalls.

0) Exit Shadowrun Returns on both PCs

Then, in your Steam client on both PCs:

1) Go to your Steam Library
2) Right Click "Shadowrun Returns" and select Properties
3) Click on the Updates Tab
4) Enable - Steam Cloud
5) Consider enabling the other options on the Updates Tab as well.
6) Click Close
7) Restart your Steam Client
8) Click on your Steam Library, see if Shadowrun Returns is syncing. It might be fast, so you may miss it. Wait a few minutes anyway.
9) Start Shadowrun Returns, see if your cloud saves have sync'd.

If not, then come back here. I hope this helps! ^_^

Unfortunately not. Steam cloud was already enabled on both computers but I set the updates to prioritize this game. I've restarted Steam several times on each computer, enabled Steam.exe full access through my firewall (connected without any routers possibly interfering) but still no save games from the other installation. I never see the game synchronizing when I start Steam but both installations always synchronize for a brief moment upon ending the game. I copied a save game inside one of the installations (so I have 2 instances of it) but the data size in Steam cloud is still the same (1.43 MB as it has been for quite some time).

I'm at my wits end here...

Just to confirm, are you signed on to both Steam accounts with the same login? Was the same Steam Key used to install both Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall on both PC's?

Also, have you filed a bug report with HBS yet? They're usually happy to help when they can.

Also, you can try Steam Support as well. It does sound like the issue is Steam Cloud connectivity related.

Same account. I don't have any other account and I sure don't have more than one copy of Shadowrun. And using the same key? I'm not sure i understand the question. I can only use a key once...

As for bug reports I haven't gotten around to it yet. I was sure something was "done wrong" from my side so I thought I'd ask here first.

@TomHell
Are you run with diffirent OS on them ? and made sure you have Administrator rights
TomHell Mar 31 @ 1:52pm
Well, W7 on one and W8 on the other but I don't see what difference that makes? Admin rights on both...
Whilemaner32 Apr 1 @ 8:10am
how about rights and priviliges as steam is trying to access restricted files ?
TomHell Apr 2 @ 2:21pm
Not sure about that. In the security tab for Steam icon properties the standard users and groups have access to everything. Is that what you mean?
