where did you get linear from?
EDIT: It's not going to be open-world, of course, but there will be plenty of side-jobs and so on. It'll be less-linear than DMS at the very least.
The Neverwinter Nights games allowed players to export their characters in the expansions and that increased replaying value.
I just hope the Berlin campaign is a bit longer and much more open (I enjoyed DMS a lot but it doesn't have much replay value).
I'm not sure what I'm going to do, like I feel I need to play someone strikingly different from my guy in the original campaign if thats the case or I won't be able to get into it right.
But then again I'll likely just end up playing the same sort of Party Face/Marksman... but this time play as a girl using a pistol instead of a guy using an assault rifle? (I could go elf instead of human I guess but I'm just not as keen on elves)
