If this game didn't have a level editor, what would you rate it?
and the original campaign was just like it is now, or was on release.

Anyway, in an attempt to get this post back on track I would give a 6 or 7 out of 10 if there was no custom content. The game is great just way to short.

I would give it 2/5 instead of 3/5.

Mods aren't part of the sold package and UGC is hard, it isn't "anyone can just make a mod". It requires an investment of time and skill, and by the time you are done playing UGC you will feel like "Dead Man's Switch" is just a demo. Where is the rest of it?

If there were, say: 2 more campaigns (3 total with purchase), the editor and soundtrack, it would be worth $15. Add in multi-player, and maybe more. If there were a "GM" and "Player" mode, that would make it worth $20.00 however it would probably just be 4 players on the map meaning to be a "GM" you are really just a modder who plays a linear game on your own map after making it.

Can't go lower than what I rated it already, sadly. Negative one?

The editor was a kickstarter stretch goal, not the original fundraiser target: A reboot of the SRR console games in latter day and with retro CRPG flavor. Go read the original KS pages and forums if you don't believe me, but this was the most throughly disappointing RPG I've ever bought... well, until Banner Saga anyway lol. But that game had some very unique artwork and combat mechanics to set it apart, even if it did turn out to be the Oregon Trail RPG.

I would still rate it: Completely worth the price I paid for it.

$20 is a minimal price to pay for a new game that I enjoyed enough to play multiple times. The UGC is great in addition to that, but I got my money's worth well before I ever got around to that content.

I have a comet to sell you...
Philip Marlowe Feb 7 @ 8:17pm
Deal, If that comet comes with a grity, morally desperate, cyberpunk drama! I'll buy trice if you've got good writing and art atmosphere! Come on bro, trust me this genre has a cult following. Keep up the quality stories and I'll keep on buying. Where's your comet now?

This genre is underexploited in the world where everyone just moves from one trope to another. This genre is depraved enough and has so been for long enough, that anything in it is likely to succeed among the "home crowd", especially from a brand like Shadowrun.

My question, if this were not a Shadowrun game, would you like it?

If this was a COD, or Might and Magic type genre based story, no; but someone who likes said genres might.

no one would.

I know nothing of Shadowrun trademark and frankly don't care at all of this trademark or anything.

But Shadowrun Return was a great fresh air with wall of text interesting to read instead of pale vocals to listen, and good Turn Based fights changing from the action fights of AAA RPG with most having very similar and very tedious fights (only exception was the few party RPG with pause ie DA series and Drakensang series).

If this wasn't a Shadowrun game I probably wouldn't have checked into it in the first place, but I love the story, and world of the Shadowrun universe. If this was some kind of rip off world without the Shadowrun name, I'd still enjoy it, it was a pleasent game.

Honestly the campaign editor was really the reason I bought it, rather then the storyline and such. Even though I do not plan on making any stories or maps, I think after a year or so of this game being out the main draw will be the player created maps sort of like Starcraft, and Warcraft III were to me. Yes the game was fun for a few hours, but it really came to shine in user created maps, and settings.

I think, even without a level editor, the game would have been worth it's money. Yes the campaign is pretty short but there is scope for future addons.
