2. Many feel that, in spite of UGC, the game "Shadowrun Returns" is the "actual game" and that the mods are just mods, like in skyrim or Civ 5. Some are great, some aren't however we didn't pay for the mods, we paid for the game.
3. The editor is a tool that takes an investment of your time to learn. Not just "anybody" can, you know, "crack it open" and make an awesome game. This claim is just as deceptive as the hype for Shadowrun: Returns in general. Instead, you need to have specific skills and a lot of time, and the tools are pretty darn limited.
4. On that note, you can argue how much of the UGC is "higher quality" than "The Game, Dead Man's Switch". The game is like an e-reader. The company released one small "novelle" on this e-reader, Dead Man's Switch. The second one is "Dragonfall". That is Shadowrun: Returns. There is an editor. You can play mods. But no, it isn't as easy as they say it is.
I suggest waiting for a 80% off sale or something, so that if you are not satisfied you can claim it was no loss.
oh thanks i didnt know any of that, strange im seeing a lot of kickstarted games fall short recently. makes you think where the money goes.
With dragonfall the game is complete , so basically with dragonfall , is the game worth the full price of a AAA product .
Cause that is what the backers paid for , Shadowrun Returns + Berlin
Berlin was a stretch goal , now changed into Dragonfall .
Basically after this DLC backers pledges are all fullfilled , so people can basically really judge there backings .
So far am not dissapointed at all , infact the character generation and all the tactical options in combat , is good enough for me .
Only thing I wished they opened up is more combat weapon slots , for deckers and riggers .
Those drones and deck take a weaponslot .
But like said , you don´t think it is worth it playing best Shadowrun game released so far.
Then Shadowrun didn´t mean anything for you :P . that was the reason the project started in the first place .
This from my analytical point of view .
In keeping up with the schedule , basically they didn´t deviate from there original plans.
Isometric world , what they deviate from is 3D sprites and wire frame packages .
So that alone was a suprise by opening the editor and checking those stuff .
They could have gone for cheaper 2D files and stuff .
But the characters are 3D , so that was a huge pleasant suprise , especially if in the future somebody wants to start a shadowrun returns huge MOD project .
They are able to upgrade it into the next Gen .
Something that troubled Jagged Alliance 2 mod community for a long time still till today .
So choice of where the money went , I can see where the money went .
Also the alternative world (cyberspace) interfacing with realtime (real world) .
Means syncronised turns , be able to start combat in 2 totally different section but still seems smooth enough .
That alone is hard to pull off in TBS , meaning you wanted multimap combat at the same time.
It is possible .
Last all the combat options , AOE , Spells , Overwatch , Pets , Cover system .
Tell me what has been released so far in TBS , that comes close to having all those options.
only one was Jagged Alliance 2 .
Only thing lacking in shadowrun is height chances , but that is difficult to pull off cause of isometric maps , but still it is doable .
So yeah what most people do not realise , cause the game feels so easy and smooth .
How much combat options there really are , Cause combat feels so short and easy .
Stealth was even in there , something really hard to pull off to maintain balance .
Stealth can easily break triggers , scripts and other issues .
So sadly I can understand the reason they removed it , but even that can be modded back in , cause it was there in the first place .
See I given examples where the money went , when I look at this project .
Sadly it doesn´t mean this project is easy to mod ! cause people nowadays lacks a lot of creativity , or beter put we have grown more lazy :P ! including me .
Anyone can make a level editor and have the other players try to make it fun because the developers couldn't do it.

@OP there's fanboys for every game who give them 10/10 no matter how badly designed & boring they are, find a game where there ISN'T a fanboy praising the game. If you can't, then take his opinion with a grain of salt.

If you're not a fanboy, and you haven't already played pretty much every other turn based game that's not this. You have no reason to really play this.
And I definetly do not take you serious , cause you say divinity is a $10 project.
Lets take salary shall we , we employ a 3D artist for a year ! how much would there wages cost ?
We take a system analysist how much would there wages cost for a year ?
Why this project succeeded was keeping the timetable on track !
