Incompatibility between classes, and other stuff to know
Hmm so i've started over and over the game several times, because I ended with some combinations that were possible, and also i discovered some things that i didn't know, and thus i wasted some karma.

To make the newbie not repeat it again, this is the list of what i've found, which is not listed in the game :

Weapon & Spell slots :
  • Weapons, Rigger Drones as well as Decking need one free weapon slot. Later on, you can have 2 drones in the same weapon slot.
  • Each spell of mage, shaman and adept need one free spell slot (they share the same spellbook)

Shaman & Riggers :
  • A shaman can only have one summon at a time. A shaman can't summon if he already has drones under his control (active mode). Each spirit costs -1 AP per turn.
  • There's two modes for drones and a button to switch the mode. In automatic mode they just follow you. If you activate a drone then it eats an AP for this turn and all turn started where it is activated. In activated mode you can move and make shoot the drones.
  • When you control a spirit, during the first turn it has only 1 AP. Then, each turn, you will have to select the number of AP you give him. The more AP you want to give him, and the more far you are from him, the more chance you will have to lose its control.

Street samurai & Essence points :
  • Street samurai doesn't have spells per se ; but they are the heaviest user of cyberware
  • Having (n) essence points or (n and a half) is the same (for example, having 4.5 or 4 essence points is the same for your spells).
  • You can't have more less than 1 essence point. Even 0.5 isn't possible.
  • For every less essence point, you have one less spell you can select for a mission, and one additional cooldown. But it does not decrease their damage or their buff. This is true for every spells in the game (Shaman, mage, adept)

    Others:
  • The combination rigger/mage/shaman is viable and interesting, assuming you lose only 1 essence from your cyberware. The mage 1 cooldown won't disturb you, and by having shaman points, you will be able to learn Haste.

I will complete the list as I go through the game.. If you have any other examples in mind of things that are good to know, please post here.

A good sammy has low essence, almost by definition.

Shaman spells are modified by essence. Shamen don't have reliable attack spells either, so they need supplementing with a weapon, or hybrid sorcery.

Hmm what's a "se" in "The street samurai doesn't have spells per se" ?

Added "If you're a rigger and don't use a drone, in the next turn, you won't have -1 AP"

To answer a bit of your curiosity, a rigger/mage is possible. Magic is still pretty effective at 5 essence, and the 1 turn extra cooldown isn't too incredibly painful. I'd also only recommend using one drone if you decide to try it, and get some shaman points for Haste. You also lose one spell slot as well for each essence lost. Since datajacks are .5 you can also get cyber eyes if you want.

@steelcoresoviet : thanks, didn't know that was latin. Normally, everytime you use a latin word, you have to write it in italic :P I thought se was some kind of abbrevation

@di eshor ribly : thanks !

I've added one question : Do the adept spells share the same spellbook as the shaman/mage spell ? Are they modified by essence ?
steelcoresoviet May 25 @ 8:51am
(I don't know how to Italicize text in Steam)

Adept spells take the same spell slots. They also have passive benefits, which increase when activated. Low essence depletes slots and cooldowns, but DOESN'T weaken the passive buffs.

Ok, thanks ; so, to sum it up, each essence point brings more cooldown to spells, and one less spell slot. But the buff of adept spells aren't modified.

Is the damage of mage spells modified by the essence ? Or it's just a matter of cooldown and spell slot ?

Just a matter of cooldown and spell slot. Higher damage spells require a greater skill level, though.

Alright ! Thanks !

<<The spellbook of mages and shaman are the same. So if you want to go mage+shaman, keep in mind that it won't increase the number of spells you can learn.>>
Strange way to see it, then you can add that deck slots and weapon slots are the same....

EDIT:
There's weapon slots they have a max number.
There's Spell slots that have a max number.

You increase Weapons slots through Weapon skills, Rigger skills, Decker skills.
You increase Spell slots though Adept skills, Shaman Skills, Mage Skills.

Isn't it?

Yeah, forgot about it ! Thanks !

Actually I'm adding that because I didn't know until I tested it myself.. When you're in the first screen to put your first points, I had put like some points into shaman, and some points into mage, thinking that i would be able to have both shaman spell and mage spell without restriction. I got kinda frustrated when I saw that they were occupying the same spellbook.. And I started again my character.

Ok but, could be a matter of taste, I prefer understand it like this:

There's weapon slots they have a max number.
There's Spell slots that have a max number.

You increase Weapons slots through Weapon skills, Rigger skills, Decker skills.
You increase Spell slots though Adept skills, Shaman Skills, Mage Skills.

Alright, i'll put in a more neutral way

Lol you think that's my problem? Perhaps.

EDIT: I really take a while to understand what you mean, not because neutral or not.
