We will be supporting Linux when it makes sense to, Steambox, for example, is the perfect time for that.

Great! I'm curious how this decision process works. I think many games try to get it out before Steambox so they have time for testing and fixing. But I guess once you guys release, you're confident there will be no bugs :)

We hope it's going to be as easy as Select Build, choose Linux.... famous last words of course....hah.

Well the beauty of Steam, too, is if we need to patch something we can do so pretty quick! We're aware that linux can be a fickle monster at times when it comes to getting software to actually work, but we will test it before we submit it to Steam, obviously.

Makes sense. Good point about the easy-to-patch feature of Steam.

I think that's one of the hooks of Steam for indie developers, compared to the likes of Playstation and Xbox. Steambox will be an indie haven, free, quick updates, cross platform as well as getting all the great things you get with a console. (Achievments, Pig Picture, Controller support etc).

I never thought about that advantage. Indie developers don't have the funds to hire many dedicated testers but with continuous updates they don't really need to. Cool.

You guys ought to see about getting the game onto the Ubuntu Software Center too.

I don't think it's worth it, Humble Store on the other hand, where every distro can use it.
