graphics literally determine everything about how much a game should cost, irrelevant of all other factors involved in production. this is something that makes clear sense, yes.
no it doesnt

I don't care ho much it costs... 13 dollars was worth it.
Frankly the game is worth 19.99. 13 is a steal of a deal.

I thought I'd be more put off by the low-res graphics than I am. There are actually some cool visual effects -- the line of sight, the glitching -- and even though everything's so blocky, I found myself really getting into the game's atmosphere. It's still immersive enough that I get genuinely tense and freaked out while playing. I delayed buying it for a couple days because of the price, but in the end I'm glad I caved.

This is what I like to see now if we can get the op to play the game he would see its a great fun game. I don't think he understands fun and would rather watch high res paint on a wall then play a great game.

The atmosphere, gameplay and sound are top notch. While the graphics are not very good, it is still "better" than other, more traditional rougelikes which use ASCII graphics.Try the demo on the website, the game has been really fun for me so far.

Also, I understand where you are coming from. When I first saw the game, I dismissed it as it having developers who could not create decent sprites, but I still tried out the demo and bought it shortly after.

tl;dr
Try before you buy, it's not for everyone.

If you think it's too expensive, wait for the Christmas sale. Simple.
