How to "Straight to the core"

The way i did it was very simple and brutish. Make sure you have some teleporters so the run success isn't snuffed.

Anyway, you need the minigun. Run right to the core and dodge gunfire the best you can. When you are getting close, unload the minigun and focus on one point. When you break through, Do the same for the next layer and then the computer. If you run out of magazine ammo, switch to another automatic weapon and continue unloading. Stay away from the walls if you can. All of this will happen VERY quickly, so you gotta stay sharp.

You mean like... Make a hole, run inside, make another and kill the core? Thx man. :D

last time i played i made the railgun just to try... didn´t like it tho, i prefer the lasgunmod, but, it apeared to me that the railgun shots can go through several enemies at once so, idk, it might be a way to damage the core without taking care of the shields. I will try it next time i get there

Enemies, yes. But da Boss seems to be surrounded by wals. I tried railgun too and i shot about 300 battery at him, aiming at the center. Didn't even make a hole (or i'm just a lousy shot). Then i got very attached to the magshield, and never built the railgun again. Anyway... largetubes work better in cannons. :D I'll try the minigun.

Ok, it doesn't work, that would be too easy I guess, To hell with railgun then, its such a waste of batteries!, and yes, magshield is a must!
