Armor mechanics? How does it reduce damage and how much durability does it lose when hit?
Pretty much title. Was curious to see if anybody has found out exactly how it works. I understand that general knowledge can guide you away from using the shotgun on anything other than mushies but I've been crunching some numbers for curiosity and I'd like to know how it works.

Logically enemy armor x reduces any incoming damage by x. What about your own armor? Does it degrade for every point of damage it blocks?

From what I've seen, enemy armor and player armor works completely differently. From what I can see, armor on enemies reduces damage by a certain amount, but then the armor piercing value on the weapon determines how much of the blocked damage is able to penatrate.

Armor on yourself reduces damage from all attacks somewhat, but is MUCH MUCH MUCH more effective against bullets; what could have killed you may now only do 15 damage. Amount of damage blocked does not seem to have an effect on the amount of damage your armor takes, only the number of hits blocked matters.

If you have any armor, there is dmg reduction, period. Atleast from my observations. If you have 5 armor and get shot by a 9mm bullet, you will take as much dmg as you would if you had 95. Also, enemies can have ridicolous amounts of armor lategame, so make sure you have piercing weapons.
