8.8 Beta has less lag

I switched to the 8.8 beta, and the title screen lag/distortion lag is gone

When I switched back to 9.3, I started to lag again.

It has to do with the enhanced OpenGL effects from the newest versions i think

That makes sense. I just wish that there was an option to toggle it off or on.
