Castlevania Lords of Shadow Part 1,
When in decided to drop an few bucks on this game, i was hoping for an "hack and slash" game including an decent storyline. and within an hour of playing I was disapointed, very disapointed. First, i could NOT use my mouse, and second, the keyboard layout was terrible. So I spend some time remapping the keyboard layout. The new layout was better but caused my hands to cramp. AND i could not move my point of view. So after an hour i closed the game and went on with my life, dissapointed in a game that could have so mutch potention in being an great game.
After an week, I was still thinking aboud the game and how I was going to make it work. So in the end, I went to the store, bought an Xbox ONE controller for 55 euro's (11 times the monney I dropped for this game) linked it with my pc and started playing again. It was an relief. The controls made sence, my hands didn't cramp and the point-of-view problem didn't seem that bad anymore. after i got my controller, 20 more hours were needed to complete the game and I enjoyed most of it to the max. Puzzles were good and solvable without having to use an walktrough all the time. and the story was good enough to keep me intrested all the time. Sadly, to fill time, battles are often way to long, taking up way to mutch time of the game. an boss battle should be 5-10 minutes in an good game, not 15-20 mintes of intensive button mashing in my opinion.
Long story short:
Awesome story, lots of different enemys, good graphics, enough attack options.
Controller essential, battles can become to long an boring.
So if you are an fan of an good story, linked with good and refreshing puzzles and somhow long battles AND own an controller then this might be an good game for you to pick up.
