It is hard to judge this game. I wanted to like it. It started with promise, as a fun third-person action-platformer. At first, it was fun with the normal levels, and the bosses were bad. Then the boss fights got better, and quite different each.
However, the experience was rough: the levels were hyper-linear; it is not possible to control the camera in any way; and some of the controls are plain bad (try double-tapping a direction with the left stick for running...). I won't talk about the story: it is dark and grim for being dark and grim, but its better to forget the story entirely - the game becomes much better that way (at least in my opinion).
And then came the final boss, the Forgotten One. It started with a timed instant-death platforming section, followed by a slow battle with the boss. Then came an even more difficult instant-death platforming section, followed by even more of the _same_ slow battle with the boss. It was infuriating. My playthrough lasted around 37 hours; this final boss was around 7 hours of it. On the 2nd difficulty (of 4).
Alltogether, this is a game, that is very close to be a fun, good game, but ultimately falls flat. I would not recommend playing it, there are much better candidates (better story, controls, less infuriating bosses, etc.). However, I would state, not much is needed to be good, so if you are prepared for the bad parts, it might be for you.
