Sleuth achievement bug?

I might be going crazy but at some point I believe I had 5/30 for it and it regressed to 3/30 about 2 days ago. Back to 6/30 now but, anyone else or is it just me?

Yup. It resets for some reason.

It does that for other achievements as well. If it gets worse, you may need an achievement program to unlock it.

Anyway, latest update fixed all achievements, so they are obtainable by playing game itself rather than cheating around with unlockers, but you might and most likely will loose those in-progress achievements, i.e. they will be reset to 0/XX again because of patch. However I had impression that the "floating value" bug was fixed (the one which instead of increasing your progress on those achievements, deducts the value and behaves kind of randomly). I will play a bit soon to find out myself how the patched version runs.

Seriously, it seems impossible to get this at the moment. No matter whether it's 3 or 23, it gets reset before 30. To make things worse these events seem to happen to me less often than before. I can play through a whole game and only get 1 or 2 events. This is ridiculous.

Encounters are quite random and on on top of it they are affected by difficulty setting you chose. I got Sleuth before update, while I couldn't get Marathon, despite finishing the game like 10times on hard and nightmare. But it doesen't really bother me personaly, since I play for fun and to experience the game itself, not for steam achievements. Maybe I'll get the rest eventually...anyway, have fun mate.

I've tried each and every difficulty setting and it seems all the same to me.

For me, this also happens for other achievements. I had basically every achievement reset. For example, the endurance one. I completed the game twice, but after the first playthrough the number got reset. So now, I still only have 1 of the 5 counted. So I will probably not be able to get this achievement at all...
