Random event suggestion: Gaining new party members

There should be a way to gain new party members if you've already lost them, but with some difficulty.

1) Its extremely rare.
2) It either requires a extreme amount of skill (Ex. do the Bandit Shootout minigame or fight off a MASSIVE horde of zombies) or is extremely expensive (Give them $1000 or 1000 oz of food or 100 medkits, etc)
3) It is generally not worth it in terms of all the supplies you gave up in order to get a new party member.

I think there's already a random event like this... but I could be wrong.

I am almost certain you can not gain additional party members. You can however gain a Cat and a Baby. After you get them the game doesn't mention them again until the end when they are added to your score. Also if you run out of food they will die and you will not get the additional points at the end.

I'll have to play more to see if it happens. I feel like I had someone join me once but I might be remembering wrong.
