Do you hear any Windows ("ding") sounds when the freezes happen? Is any program running in background which may be using some key shortcuts interfering with the game (for example ATI/AMD Catalyst Control Center)? Did you try pressing all the same keys simultaneously in other games to check if they freeze, too?

Thats an odd issue, to be sure. You said you've read the FAQ etc, so have you checked all the 'usual suspects'? (i.e verifying the game cache, redownloading the latest video drivers from AMD directly and reinstalling them, etc)
Even if you don't have issues in other games, sometimes you can have strange things occur in just one game, and it turns out to be a system problem somewhere.
That may not be your issue of course, but if you haven't taken those steps yet, give them a whirl and let us know.

It might be worth resetting all your graphics settings, it case something has become corrupt (it's a long shot, but it's worth a try). You can do this when you reinstall your graphics card drivers, there should be an option or checkbox (sorry, I'm not familiar with the specifics of AMD) which says 'clean install'. This will install clean drivers and wipe any graphics profiles (it won't harm your computer or remove anything important). If Dell offers graphics drivers updates, get the ones from AMD instead.

Also, is your keyboard wireless? Dell does have drivers and a host of other updates on their website. It might be worth getting all the updates for your computer from Dell, if you haven't done so already. (Except the bios or firmware updates. Don't get those unless you are sure how to use them).
