You know that disk in the game, the awesome dungeon game one?

Well - it's a new mobile game we've been working on, and it's now available on OUYA, iOS, and Android devices.

You can find out more here:

Could you guys program the game in the disk where you can play it? Since it's free, and basically be the same thing, for people who don't have awesome mega phones like me :/

Nice, downloading as I type... I'm presuming this game is Nigel Burke approved? :p

Nigel loves this game. He loves it almost as much as he loves Gauntlet.

It's not 8bit, there's way too many colors for that. I hate when people use that term incorrectly.

Really, I think amstrad CPC owners (I was one back in the days) will disagree. The CPC was an 8bit Z80a based computer (I used to use the laser genius assembler to program on it). If you are going to spout that you hate when people use terminology incorrectly then learn the facts first.

Could not remember the exact specs for the display so wiki'd it:

Three built-in display resolutions are available: 160×200 pixels with 16 colours ("Mode 0", 20 text columns), 320×200 pixels with 4 colours ("Mode 1", 40 text columns), and 640×200 pixels with 2 colours ("Mode 2", 80 text columns).[13] Increased screen size can be achieved by reprogramming the CRTC.

The original CPC video hardware supports a colour palette of 27 colours,[13] generated from RGB colour space with each colour component assigned as either off, half on, or on. The plus range extended the palette to 4096 colours, also generated from RGB with 4 bits each for red, green and blue.[8]

---

Note that there were tricks used to add overscan to the display and even make use of more colours than mode 0 would allow. In mode 0 16k of the 64k ram was used for the video buffer. In overscan mode it could go higher. On the plus models additional colours could be used for sprites as well as the main palette bringing 32 colours on-screen without this trickery.

This game could quite definitely have been made in the 8bit era.

(note the picture over half way down showing a test card displaying many colours where they state it is possible on a real CPC using mode 0 and rasters)

'8-bit style' is the correct term.

It's evolved over time to mean anything pixely.

Playability would be an awesome easter egg. That's what i was expecting, when i couldn't play i was a little bummed.

It would be great if you could throw it in the simulator as an easter egg (small DL free/cheap with achievements would make it even better).
Also, a glowing review from Nigel on the iOS app store page would be Ace!
