Metroidvania?
Is this game similar to a Metroidvania game?

A little bit yeah, but played in a single sitting with lots of hidden items and secret rooms.

Not really much metroidvania as much as it is a very large super meatboy level with poor controls. Theres a few temp items like flares, and an axe, but thats mostly it as far as items.
