Anyone encountered these bugs?
Love the game - I have encountered a few bugs though. Just uninstalled to see if that helps ..

Here are a few things I have experienced;

One of my felons is ready to be released but won't move - he is stuck in the canteen and even searching him won't make him leave afterwards. He was sentenced to 3 years but has been there for 4.1 years now ...

I dont have Fog of War on but still can't see what's going on by the cells unless I have a guard walk by, maybe that's just how it is?

Two of my inmates assaulted a guard and have the Solitary countdown, but it doesn't count down, so they are stuck. -- Also, whenever I launch my game it goes straight to a plain new game and not to any menu or anything. - am I the only one with these problems?

1) there is a staff only area at your exit blocking him
2) http://steamcommunity.com/app/233450/discussions/0/864974276008734899/
3) ?
4) happens to me hit esc to get the menu

Does the felon have a remaining solitary sentance? Is there a staff-only zone blocking the exit?

How are your cells set up? Use patrolling guards in cell blocks to keep visibility up. I tried making single-foundation cells and found that you can't see inside of them unless you send an officer in directly.

You need a solitary cell - build a 3 x 3 box outdoors, with the 1 x 1 block in the middle as 'solitary' and put a solitary door on it. Bingo.

when a prisoner is ready to release it needs an unobstructed way out, you probably have a hallway set to staff-only, which prevents the prisoner from leaving.. its not a good idea to open it the entire day for everyone, or else cleaners will escape.. i always wait for night and then switch it to general pop long enough for the prisoners to leave, and then put it on staff only again..

fog of war is bugged at the moment, you can change it by going to your savefile of your prison (user/appdata/local/introversion/prisonarchitect) and in that file change the "enabledvisibility" from true to false

hmmm havent had this one yet, dunno, are they in the solitary cell?

1. ohhh! That might be it, I will try and see if it can be fixed!
2. I will check to see if I can get it working by changing the save file.
3. So the solitary sentence won't go away until they are actually in a solitary cell? Is that how it works?
4. Might just be the way it is for now anyway, hopefully they get that fixed in the next update.

I will try these suggestions and see what happens, and will report back! THanks!

3) you can even re-designate their normal cell to solitary ( they'll be brought there, do their "time") then you can change it back to a normal cell ( little bit of a "cheat")

Here is what I figured out!

The reason prisoners got stuck was because I did not have a solitary cell. The prisoner that needed to be released had access to the gate, but had to do his time in the solitary cell before being released! Fog of War was fixed by changing the savegame file. These are all workaround things that once figured out aren't that big of deals. Thank you guys!

Except for the fog of war, the other issues you had were not bugs. Just want to point that out . . . :-)

Rawr, i still can't figure out why my prisoners are getting stuck. Could someone explain the "staff only zone" a little more detailed?
[DSN] EXET Jul 23, 2013 @ 11:13am
Staff only is for staff only. Prisoners cannot enter that area.

Meaning . . . if your path to the outside is blocked with a staff only zone, then the prisoners, that are released cannot exit the prison! That's where they get stuck.

A hint: Try 2 entrances, one for the prisoners and one for the staff with staff doors and staff only area. That way, staff can get in and out the prison without guards and prsioners can get out too!

If you like I can post a screenshot of what I mean . . .

Staff Only Zone happens in deployment when it is researched, it acts as an area where only Guards/Workers/Janitors/Foreman/Staff can go. Prisoners cannot use those areas.

very true - at the time I thought they were bugs though, but now I see that they aren't at all. :)

I have a problem with injured prisoners not moving anymore. On top of that, some prisoners flash "released" but they won't leave. Some have left though...

Unconscious prisoners can't move. Best bet is to send a doctor to the prisoner.
Released prisoners will always leave if they have a clear path to the outside world.

If the prisoners can't leave, you have not a clear path for the prisoners to get out of your prison! Check if the path is blocked with a staff door or a staff only area!

Releasing prisoners is not bugged. It works fine.
