How this could possably be done in a tile based game I have no idea... Probably end up looking something like the first doom. Somehow I don't think it will happen :p

Yes, let's waste time on development to make a faux-3d or real-3d camera view just to be able to see what a staff members sees.

And would it really be awesome? I don't think so. It doesn't add anything meaningful.

In defense, using possession in Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 was pretty fun.
I wouldn't put it as a priority, but make it a Riot Guard feature - you have to go in personally to stop riots.

i could see someone coming along and developing a 3 dimensional version of a game like this. but don't expect this game to overhaul it just for that.

Who you calling 'we all'? I didn't agree. I think it'd be a stupid waste of time gimmick.

I think most people would disagree with that, actually. Doesn't fit in with this type of game at all. And the amount of dev time would be akin to writing a whole new game (this game was built in 2D).

I don't mean to be a grouch, but it's not a very good idea.

It's technically unfeasible to magically convert a completely 2 dimensional game, and game engine, into a 3 dimensional environment. The only reason it works in Dungeon Keeper is because the game engine is allready entirely in 3-d and they just had to make a few tweaks to allow the camera to be moved 'into' a posessed character, along with a mild world adjustment to allow the ceilings to be invisible from above, yet visible from beneath (in first person).

While first person would be neat, it doesn't fit into the concept of the prison management sim in the first place, and as I said above, is incompatible with the engine. I'd rather not see the devs spend alot of time upverting the 2-d content to 3-d content when they could be adding more features and squashing bugs. If you want to build something from an isometric perspective and enjoy wandering it in first person, go buy Dungeon Keeper, and it's sequel at and have fun. This just doesn't belong in this game.

I thinnk it would be cool but they should finish other things off first:prisoner:
