Estimated release date

I'm considering purchase of the game but would prefer to know what sort of release date the developers expect. A quick look at the posts here haven't revealed any information.

Obviously a set in stone release date is unlikely but I don't feel a target year release is unreasonable when considering a financial contribution to a product, additionally a release date target provides some security that the game is in ongoing development. This is not an accusation but being offered for 'early alpha' purchase could be a way of cashing in on an unfinished game which will never come to completion.

The game looks promising and may scratch the itch left by the old Theme Park games.

Developers have released a new build with features every month for 20+ months. If you want assurances of release you should review patch rate.

Introversion wouldn't have made it available to buy if they didn't think they could finish it (see the development of Subversion for proof of this).

Game has had updates for like two years every month, if you know the story about how everyone got conned with "Towns" early access, and don't want to risk ever being conned by early access games, then never buy an early access game. That being said, Introversion(the gamestudio making prison architect) has been around for over ten years, unlike the two dudes that were making "Towns".

Probably mid-late 2015. Maybe early 2016. But that's us guessing. The developers have, quite rightly really, made no promises about a release date, but they've released an update and a video every month for almost two years. Don't worry about your financial investment should you make one.

By the way, the game is far beyond 'promising' now, and most definitely does scratch the itch left by no decent new Theme-Thing games. :)

This game will get a release date when the developers can't think of new things to add/fix.

But if you are concerned about EA games, you shouldn't be with this one...This game is fantastic, the devs are very reliable, even though this month there wont be an 'update' per say with new additions, but this whole month is being worked on bug fixes!

This game is amazing and it's in Alpha!?!?! Prison Architect is going to be my favourite game come summer 2014, and I thought nothing would beat Don't Starve. I'll have to wait and see.
