Staff not eating during break?

I built a proper staff canteen, some guards eat, others dont, even when they are on break, and their hunger bar is full, causing them to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off leading to dead prisoners. They will just walk around the canteen or my staff room like sheep =(

Anyone else having this issue? I've also noticed that prisoners have had similars issues in the past, they just REFUSE to eat sometimes and will just walk around the canteen with their hunger needs at max

i have a similar problem, if you have multiple canteens (like i do) dedicated to staff only, the food will only be delivered to one canteen. As well, your food trays do not get cleaned which could be another reason, let me know if these are some issues.

I also had the problem since the food is delivered to the nearest staff canteen (meaning the closest to the deliveries zone). Therefore the staff who are taking a break in a staffroom deeper in your prison will not come in the canteen to eat as they prefer to starve in the closest staffroom (probably an AI problem).

I use the mod Tweaked Staff Food (available in the workshop) to cancell the competition between staff canteen and added a small canteen area in all my staffroom so food get also delivered there. I agree its just a plaster and that the fix should be done at the AI level.

There is also an abundance of trays in the staff canteens, the staff starves.

There is already a couple reports on this, hopefully introversion will make an update 11b to fix it.

I'm having the same problem and only have one staff canteen. It is separate from the break room though. The guards will go in there but not eat. There are no trays on the serving table. I'm certain this is my problem. I made an extra kitchen nearby and still no trays being delivered.

Sigh, I have a starvation problem too. Staff doesn't eat from the one staff canteen they recognise, they don't feed prisoners who don't eat in lockdown and it just gets worse...

This should help :) put a vending machine or two in STAFF ONLY areas, they'll use the machines to fix their food needs etc when there are no clean trays or staff meals available :)

Will they actually do it though? They also tend to pick the furthest away toilet or maybe just a random one and waste the hell of their break time INSTEAD of getting food even when they're pee'd. I wish I could just directly order them to eat, at least until their AI is fixed.

Yep I've tested.

If you use Murgh's staff food tweaked mod that fixes a lot of problems with trays and meals but if you're still short on trays or they're still not eating then they will fallback on the vending machines as I've defined FailureAction = USE. So when they fail to feed themselves instead of sitting around being pee'd off they're forced to use vending machine.

Well I'm gonna try it then :) I have my prison separated into security level blocks and each has a separate staffroom so I'm still waiting for some sane code for where they go but I guess that's why it's the beta right?

This is a serious problem. No matter what happens my staff wont eat. Can't play with needs turned on until this is fixed.

make canteen then mark as staff only in deployment = staff canteen

You dont understand. I made a canteen for them. I followed the instructions. I watched the tutorials. IT DOES NOT WORK!

try to make NO staffcanteen, just put it all in the staffroom,
works for me

but i have still the problem, that just the two staffrooms nearest to the deliveryzone gets food,
all staff 2 miles away must go to that ♥♥♥♥ room to eat?? thats not good...
