Final Hours of Tomb Raider - A Short Brief (No Spoilers)
Whether or not you guys find this a scam, it's up to you, but unfortunately in this case is hard to tell if you don't own it. I liked Tomb Raider and wanted to know more about it so i bought it for 74 cents with a discount. Here's a little (and general, no content spoiler) brief i made:

First off, what i do not like:

1) It is published as a game. It is listed along with all your games taking up one slot. This is a "game" that you usually "play" once and then forget about it. Not a big problem, you can just move it to another category.

2) This should have been included in the survival edition, not as standalone. The survival edition provides little extras, including this could have made it more interesting.

To begin with, it's not a document, i mean, it's not a PDF file nor a video. It is a well made, 300 MiB application. The description says you need Adobe AIR so i guess it uses that technology for rendering.
Don't want to spoil talking about the content but i may say that is very interactive. In the first pages you'll find a ton of flashy links to articles and interactive content such as a 3D view for the pervs in "every angle" (it says literally in the app) of Lara Croft. I just move with the right and left arrow to stick to the index structure (haven't checked all of those links yet).
There's a lot of interesting reading and once in a while they present interactive content such as polls and true 360 images (i do not know how they made those, sorry for my ignorance, but they are the best 360 images i've ever seen, no FOV distortion, you're a pixel in space and can rotate the camera to every point possible including the place where the camera should be).

That's pretty much all i should talk about it so far, i'm not done with the app yet, it's taking me a while (the visuals stuns you for a moment in every page) and did not want to finish it in the first run, so i guess i'm one of the very few that'll be launching this app more than once.

Recommended to buy the app only if you're a Tomb Raider diehard fan, you want to know more in details about the game development experience OR if you find it with a discount (it's not that expensive anyways).

You're welcome. I'll try to give a final impression after i finish the reading (if relevant).

I do agree with your point about the survival edition, if this was not on 75% off i would of given it a miss.

Do I play it after or before finishing the game? I don't want spoilers, so can anyone answer me, please?

Probably after. Though there are no significant spoilers, certain scenarios and set pieces are discussed and ultimately you'll appreciate the app more after you've seen the whole game.

There are spoilers about the plot, so yeah, after.

I believe the app was done by a third party. The guy who did this (too lazy to look it up or cite sources before morning coffee) had also done the same type of app for other games and moveis too.

It's informative though, no doubt about that.

Very informative. I hope more developers will be during this with future titles.
