anyone who buys this is part of the problem
for the love of god, this is shameless moneygrabbing, if you are stupid enough to buy this they will think it ok to do this sort of thing.

Who is "they" in your scenario?

Geoff Keighley has done a few of these now. I've picked up the one he did for Portal 2 and the one for Mass Effect 3 and both were well written and provided good insight into the development of the game.

If this is not something you're interested in, then by all means, do not give them your money. I personally find it mind-boggling that people here are so actively offended by its mere existence.

I bought the Portal 2 as well and was very pleased by it - This is going on my wishlist right away - Imo, it's great to have things like this, Tomb Raider also has a cool story :D

Like ddaydj said. Geoff Keighley is not one of 'them'. He is a good storyteller, though. So the book is well worth those 3 euros/dollars.
If that behind-the-scenes look is not for you, then it is alright. To everyone his own.

It's always better to be part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Worth the money for the internal development videos alone (that is of course if you're interested in such things). In other words, I agree with Madafix and ddaydj.

Stop trolling. This is like a documentry about the game. I read the Final Hours of Portal 2 and found it really interesting and cool. It's not even made by the devlopers or publisher. Educate yourself, you end up looking like a fool otherwise.

He's clearly trolling, but if I could jump in real quick:

I understand where he is coming from. I clearly would never spend money on something like this. To me, it would be a fun little edition or unlockable to a game, but just as I would not go out and buy a making of a movie (the same exception if it were part of a DVD), I wouldn't do it for a game.

But, everyone else who posted here is exactly right. It's all your money, and you're free to spend it on what you want. And in truth, I've spent more than three dollars on games I don't like, so if you only paid three dollars for this production and you enjoyed it then I have no complaints.

I always hope people like the OP don't jump into these forums. It really does nothing but breed a wider gap in gamers when there shouldn't be any.

The fact that this is available, for free, on the Tomb Raider youtube channel, makes this being SOLD nothing but greed. http://www.youtube.com/user/tombraider

The only thing that is in common between the two is name. In the book there are more stories about what a nightmare the development has been which you cannot find anywhere else. That-dorritos-guy may not be the best journalist, but he is a talanted storyteller.

What Pitch Black said. Only the names are the same.

People seem really angry with Square Enix on this one but it's an independent product. Geoff started with "The Final Hours of Portal 2" and has also done "The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3". He is a journalist granted access to the development team and process and then writes up something that is a little documentary-like. I read the Portal 2 one on an iPad and it was interactive with videos and galleries in addition to interviews and the actual articles.

Worth reading if you want to know more about game development and if you like game post mortems.

lol

OP is a perfect example of the new breed of steam user that just goes to the forums to whine and moan about everything despite them not even owning the product in question.

ok ill play along.....im sorry guys, please buy this wonderful cheap booklet. the money goes into providing the developers with bigger parking lots. and if you dont buy it, the terrorists win.

As a person interested in learning more about video game development, this actually was fairly insightful.

Otherwise, I would purchase this just to support a game that I loved.
