Having just completed his game, I have to say that it was a very satisfying play.
The immersion factor is fairly good, you do feel like you're trying to solve a mystery while playing the game. The storyline is one of its strong points, with enough loose ends and red herrings to keep you playing just to find out what is going on. In terms of the challenge, the majority of the puzzles are of the point and click variety (Broken Sword) instead of the mini-games vaeriety (7th Guest). The backgrounds and settings are gorgeous- it is obvious that a lot of effort and research has been done for the game, and it shows.
I particularly appreciate that the solutions to the puzzles are logical and make sense, instead of being ludicrously far-fetched so as to increase the difficulty level.
Cons wise- The character animations I feel do not do justice to the excellent voice acting. It can be particularly jarring when, for example, you have to sit through several minutes of conversation with Mrs Miller whose jaw appears to be dislocated. And some of the male characters appear to sidle across the floor in an effeminate manner. Other have mentioned bugs in the game but I personally did not come across any.
Play this game if you want to relax with a good mystery story, lush settings and logical puzzles. A good way to spend a quiet evening.
10/10 would play again
