Murdered: Soul Suspect has a fantastic atmosphere and environment design and it is all supported by a good story and each collectible (of which there are 242 in the game) also comes with a flavour text. It creates an really immersive experience. You also get to do some detective work, both in the main plot and for a couple of NPC ghosts in Salem, but...
...Murdered's core gameplay is more akin to a visual novel, but in 3D. You look at stuff, you collect information and you solve "puzzles" by putting piece A and piece B together. It's nothing spactacular and probably not for everyone. Also while the game does have 242 collectibles, there is no way to tell if you missed one or have collected everything in an area. People that like to explore may like that, people that just want to collect everything may not.
The Stealth gameplay where you have to have to evade demons feels incredibly tacked on and unpolished. You go up behind them and kill them with a QTE. If you mess up or get spotted you have to jump between hiding places with a button press until they calm down, at which point you can try again. There is no grace period for getting spotted so you might as well reload from checkpoint because it's faster than waiting for the demons to go back to lurking.
If the sudo-Stealth segments don't turn you off and you don't expect some action-oriented gameplay, Murdered Soul Suspect is a great experience. It's a little frustrating because had they spent just a little more time on the gameplay, this game would get a blind recommendation, but as it stands this game is still
