Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon

Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon

What kind of game is this?
Honestly I understand 2 things in gaming, really good story, and kickass gameplay, but I can feel that somethings are missing, for good reason or just scrapped. When I peered upon this magical game I found a table full of goodies, oh graphics, controls, ROBOTS. But what really disappointed me was the short story, it was more of a comic book (if I can say that) than a real game. NOW don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game it's fun, but counter acting with it is that it is short. I want to say, more or less, that the game we have right here is more of a joke than a game, WHY? Obviously the good sense of humor and extravegant middle finger of awsomeness, accounting the fact that this game will possibly never recieve an update of any kind (sadly, but I could be wrong), like wise it must be a joke, then again I want to hear what the community has to say, honest opinions, please.

Yeah the story is short...too short ? well it's a budget game so I don't mind it so much.

My biggest gripe with this game is the lack of difficulty...It may be OK for a console player, but for someone who grow up with the original far cry it's far far to easy.

Yeah I get you, I would've liked to see the difficulty of Far Cry 2, the stressing of Resources you know?

i feel that the point of this game is to give the player a quick blast of fun, not to be an epic story arc with ins and outs. this whole game is dripping with 80's style nostalgia, the era of the action hero. it's meant to be short, cheesy, and balls out fun. if they make it too long, it loses it's flair...if they make it too hard, it loses it's cheese factor. i say make this into a series, or episodic content, just like they did with half life.

indeed ! but just to compare, I got this game in a bundle with Call of Juarez Gunslinger which is the same type of short and cheesy game....but CoJ:GS is far more difficult.

It's the only complaint I have with this game, and I hope there will be a sequel ;)

i really need to get gunslinger...been waiting for a sale on that...soon tho ! i loved the 80's, and these games bring back my youth...broforce is totally on my list too!

Gunslinger is set in the Wild West (1880's). It's not comparable with Blood dragon gameplay wise (Gunslinger is a linear shooter with siccessive levels). But like Blood dragon it's a short game with some cheesy moments (like you take out 4 guys while jumping out of a windows, dual wielding revolvers). It remembers me more of the lucasgames "outlaws".

Mediocre filler comes to mind and nothing special.

Ya ya, I played fc1 about 15 times, fc2 about 10 times, fear 1 a good 12 times, gta vice city 10 play through at least, san an 8-10 times but most of the recent games lately get 1 play through and some times 2. The odd time something like DI pops up and bam I'm playing through again and again like FC1 but that's not very often.

I did fc3 campaign once that's all I could stomach most of my hours are out post resets.

That's my take on modern gaming it's just getting worse instead of better , oh ya I forgot to mention the abysmal alien isolation what a farce that was or is I tossed it aside so I guess it's a was.

I partly aggree with you...games like Far cry 1 and 2 are non existant today, and by todays standards they wouldn't probably sell because "to difficult" for the average console player.

Still, Blood Dragon was a nice game I will remember. Not for the lack of difficulty, but for the sheer amount of movie references and general "80's future" setting of the game.

I don't hate BD it's just a filler game for me. If I'm looking to decompress and have a little fun Bulletstorm, Dead Island type do the job.

yeah I know what you mean.
On the other hand, it's also only 15 bucks instead of unfinished games like Assassins creed for 60 bucks. Got it for 3€ so I really can't complain...

this is an 80's reference game. Awesome in mood, easter eggs and jokes.

Blood Dragon is an 80's movie in game form, full of Easter Eggs and humour for those who are familiar with the 80's and gaming culture.
If you have a problem with this fantastic game the you missed the point of it.

it was a 15 dollar game. They just wanted to try something new. They didnt get the OK to just go ahead and turn this ♥♥♥♥ into a triple A titile. God people complain when they finally get something fresh and new. No game throws back to the good old 80's sci fi and action. WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT>

But again you have to expect this from a community that gets serious about games.
