Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon

Low fps on AMD 7970 OC edition
I'm having a lot of trouble getting this game to run properly. Far cry 3 is running okay, still a little skeptical about it as I feel at any moment, my fps will go from it's almost constant 60 fps back down to the broken 20-30 frames. I have it set it dx9, postfix is disabled from the .ini, everything else on ultra, and I'm going back and forth on shadows from ultra to low as sometimes I can get 60 frames with ultra shadows, but I can also get around 20 frames with low shadows. The game just feels unstable to me. Then I start playing this game, same settings as far cry 3 and no matter the settings I choose, I get 20-30 frames. It can even be on all low, or all ultra, 20-30 frames. What can I do to fix this? I have already disabled postfx and it's set to dx9.... What else is there? Is there something I can do from CCC?

Also, is there any setting I can turn on in CCC make games look better as normally, I have to have games run with no-2x AA and low to medium shadows. I'm curious if those settings I can do something to in CCC to look better without as much as a performance hit?

My specs:
Intel i7 4770k @ 4.4Ghz
Asrock Extreme4 Z87 Mobo
AMD 7970 Sapphire OC edition (OC is turned off)
16gb RAM

Another thing, I thought the issue might be the driver, so I rolled back from 14.4 to 13.4 and it looked like it didn't do anything.

Sorry, I forgot one last thing. In both Far Cry 3 and far cry 3 blood dragon, there are flickering shadows. How do I fix this? I also look at some npc's and they have a very heavy shadow outline on them. Is this game broken? Not optimized well for pc?

if I was you dude, i'd upgrade to an NVIDIA graphics card (anywhere from a GTX660 and above works rather well) and tweak a few settings here-and-there

believe it or not i am running fine with a gtx 650 GDDR5, and 1024 MB of vram.
amd athlon x2 II 240 2.80 and 4 gigs of ram. i also need to point out that the engine that powers farcray 3 blood dragon and the main game is not that well off in optimization and has more issues on nvidia cards. i heard AMD cards have better performance than nvidia for this game.

Worst advice ever from a couple of obvious Nvidia fanboys. AMD was and still is the king of getting the most bang for your buck. A 7970 at even stock speeds is faster than most Nvidia cards out there.

why are you making this an arguement? of course the 7970 will run better than a GTX 650 but i am just stating that i am having good performance with my computer.

Turn off or reduce antialiasing. That should likely fix the flickering issue. I get more FPS with my 7870 than you get.

This happened to me a lot with R9 280x. Smooth 60fps but a lot of drops to 30. This game has a Ubisoft syndrome (like Black Flag). If i alt-tabbed out and back in the game it fixed the framerate issues. :) Also, i got tired of alt-tabing every time i started the game so i tried enabling triple-buffering and it works like a charm now, no alt-tabing needed. :)
