interplanetary gameplay done?

Just so people know that the dates were set in stone. There always was a chance they could change for one change. If Uber doesn't think it's ready that's fine by me. I'd rather have a solid game than a rushed one. Everybody got a fair warning what the developer has to say the store page tells you anticipated schedule and dates subject to change. Now from the store page:

What the developers say:.......

......Our anticipated schedule is as follows:...

...Please Note: These dates are subject to change. We will do everything we can to meet them, but it is possible that these dates may change as we continue the development process.
my emphasis

from a thread on uber's forum:

We were trying to get a build out before PAX, but it wasn't ready. Builds are not weekly. It's when they are ready. :)

And beta starts when interplanetary and asteroids are in. That is the "feature complete" we are aiming for - all major features at least roughly sketched in.

What Garat said. We are working on orbital, interplanetary etc. This stuff will likely be rolled out over several patches. Beta will begin when we think that stuff is working well enough. There is still a TON of work to do in this area so we won't be hitting Beta on Sept. 6th.

Again I rather have a solid game than a rushed one. :-)

Who cares if you are. Games get delayed. It's nothing new.

What's the point you're trying to make here?

I think nobody wants a rushed game, that said, its september patiend wannebe beta players are waiting for thier keys.

- And I doubt that they would mind getting an aplha key instead.

Not making any point. Just putting forward my guess for fun.

I think the point is that right now it's a publicly funded and not very good tech demo. The Beta will look like the Alpha until December I suspect. Looking at the barren gameplay asteroid that we've got in front of us, a final release won't be ready until the middle of next year. Remember, almost all of us bought into that great concept movie they showed at the begining. Compared to that (and compared to a lot of $0.99 mobile game stuff) it's complete crap on pretty much every level. There's going to have to be a MASSIVE leap in quality between now and December. I absolutely can't see where that leap will come from.

what are you talking about? the game is very close to the trailer. just in a bigger, more realistic scale. and besides the asteroid crashing.

The only problem i have with the game is the balance between units. lobbers and artillery are so op.

I think you're absolutely correct.

I wonder if they'll still drop the price to $40 by December, since the mantra among Uber supporters around here has long been to just shut up and wait until December.

Lol.

Why is this even something you need to wonder about, there hasn't been any indication so far that the price won't drop.

Because the drop is on a schedule, but that schedule has two separate parts that are only assumed to coincide.

September > Beta > drop to $60
December > Release > drop to $40

However, as you just asserted, delays in game development happen all the time. Hence, these parts do not necessarily coincide. If that is the case and it is delayed for who knows how long, then what I'm wondering is which variable they plan to adhere to as it relates to their gracious price drops. Their scheduled time frame, or the indefinite development progression.

no news is good news, i think you hear about now if there`s gonna be delays
lokiCML Sep 5, 2013 @ 7:05am
It is delayed. They just haven't announced it on steam yet. ;-)
