Well I will need to check what bots are, brb
Crazy Joe Aug 31, 2013 @ 4:04pm
Oh fab bots. I don't see how they ruin the game? They ruin your resources to ♥♥♥♥ if you use too many though. Why do you think they ruin the game?

Because all people need to do is build them to win! Every game is the same thing, millions of bot factorys and when you keep them moving you can't kill them basically. Rush with them and rince and repeat

Zzzzzzzz

Turrets rip them to shreds as do tanks if ya can hit them that is. Fast but no armour.

Missing my point, EVERYONE is spamming them from the start and its a constant stream.

Look at it this way, Enough people obviously know what im on about because 80%+ of games go like this. I basically know what people are going do before the game starts. Hense showing there is no balance!

I wanted to know how many strategies are viable in the game?

I think they could put a pop cap or even building cap. Or when you build series of same buildings cost in energy should be exponential. The game is fun but spamming tends to kills the game.

Also other things they should look into.

- Make the missiles less precise. Forgot the name but the long range one is just to crazy.
- I have a lot of difficulties when the map is overcrowded. its illisible.

The catapults and yes, People love spamming them too :)

I know its alpha and i done loads of beta testing in the past on Bohemia Interative Games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and many more in my time so i understand how this process works. I suppose i should have mentioned that im not ♥♥♥♥♥ing, I'm just pointing out that people have realised the bots in the game can be used to give an unfair advantage at the start..... unless you use loads of them too i suppose.......

:)

An alpha isn't meant to be perfectly balanced yet, you're a couple months too early to complain about balance.

I always found it funny that a large majority believe helping to Alpha or Beta test is mainly comprised of balance issues. When in reality balance issues are usualy the last area of focus before a game is released.

after the last patch :

100 bots vs 50 tanks - you win
50 bots vs 50 tanks - you can win if you play good
10 bots vs 50 tanks - you loss

Befor the last patch :

100 bots vs 50 tanks - you win
50 bots vs 50 tanks - you win
10 bots vs 50 tanks - you can win if you play good

So i think it's a good balance after the last patch...build mooooooore tank factory :)

2 to 1 odds usually end in the player with more winning. Its numerical superiority. Remember superior tactics is a poor substitute for numerical superiority.

It used to be the same for tanks so they're obviously experimenting with balance still

Generally speaking, this point would be debatable. But isn't numerical superiority (at least in terms of unit resource cost) supposed to be the premise of this particular type of strategy game? Macro >>> Micro and all that? This doesn't take away from your concern about unit balance, just saying.

Yes, I agree. We'll have see how it all pans out in the end. On a galactic level though, I'm thinking the nuke is overpowerd. Build a rack of 8-10 and its game over. Will be interesting see how they do solar balltes, Never mind galactic....

It is alpha..... Nearly BETA :-D
