Some specs would be helpful.

And you're buying games still in development? This might be an adventure for you.

Start by running dxdiag. That will give you a bunch of info. The first page would be a good start. Post your processor and memory. Click on "Display 1" tab and post the name of your graphics card.

That might be your problem. You should probably wait for some other PA players to weigh in. If you want a faster response, try the Uber forum.

Currently units get rendered no matter what the distance you're looking at is. So if you zoom out, you might see the icons, but the units still get rendered. When they will start working on optimisation somewhere in August, I suppose that the HD3000 would be able to handle small games without much lag. But the fact is that the HD3000 is the absolute bare minimum you can play this game with, it should not be expected to run the game fluently on that card.

Have you tested it yourself? I have HD3000 in my notebook and game performance is actually good for Intel HD. E.g playing on much powerful AMD cards give me less stable framerate, than integrated Intel HD 3000.

I think after optimizations done this integrated card can handle really big battles, on minimal graphics settings of course.

Please upload your DxDiag somewhere (e.g http://sendspace.com/ ) and link it here, it's important for statistics.
Run DxDiag tool (Start > Run > type "dxdiag" without quotes), press "Save All Information" button and upload your DxDiag.txt.

Also don't forget to grab new drivers if you not done that yet:

your computer is pretty bad, you can't play recent games in decent conditions. eg only in low settings with aa off and low resolution, don't even understand why you buy alpha game when you can't even tell what are your specs... hmmm Oo

Idk if u noticed but my specs are on one of the replys to the another guy.
I think u would know this if u said my pc was bad.

While Intel HD 3000 isn't ideal, it should play. Keep in mind, in Alpha and Beta, since we are only allowing direct connection to server, the game is somewhat bandwidth restricted as well. If you're connecting over a slow pipe (low end DSL or mobile in particular) you may simply be hitting bandwidth saturation. Get all your settings on minimum, and make sure you have the latest drivers. Also, try playing a few small matches, such as a small planet against a single AI and determine where the lag is coming from - graphics? Or is it simply when lots of units start get to built. If your frame rate is low, that will just take some time to fix - we haven't really started optimizing yet. If it's lots of units, same answer, but how we fix it is different. We also haven't spent much time reducing bandwidth usage yet.

The lag starts when the game starts as for planet size ill give that a try. =)
